Hook 86 for 3 beat Hundleton 45 for 6 by 41 runs

Hook and Hundleton kicked off their respective under 13 league programmes with this 20-over match at a sun-blessed Hook Recreation Ground. Hundleton skipper George Jones won the toss and elected to field.

Hook got away to a flier thanks to a rapid hard-hitting 27 retired from Liam Miller, including six boundaries. His opening partner Ollie Rees batted patiently for his 13 retired. The Hundleton bowlers stuck to their task and allied to some good fielding restricted Hook from reaching a big total. Kieran Sinclair (16) and Jack Phillips (19 retired) both batted well with two boundaries each to take Hook to 86 for 3.

For Hundleton George Jones, Callum Cunnea and Dudley Ralph picked up a wicket each, with Toby Pratt, Fin Yea and Corey Mathias all bowling well.

George Jones (12) and Tom Callan (5) started well, batting patiently and running singles. Dylan Rowles opened the bowling well with Noah Goodridge and it was Noah who struck first grabbing 1 for 10. Brother Bailey then picked up a wicket before Morgan Bowen and Dillon James combined to bowl four overs for just 8 runs, Dillon adding a wicket.

Charlie Kelly, Ollie Rees, Oliver Haltam and Troy Goodridge were all unlucky not to grab a wicket as Callum Cunnea batted really well for his 15, including two boundaries. It was left to Jack Phillips with two wickets and Liam Miller one, to wrap up the innings, Hundleton finishing on 45 for 6.
