On Saturday, December 2nd, Redhill Prep School will host the first-ever ‘Pembrokeshire Primary Schools Chess Tournament.’ This milestone event marks the first chess tournament affiliated with the Welsh Chess Union to be held in Pembrokeshire.

Eleven local primary schools have entered the tournament, which will provide students an opportunity to share their passion for the game and bring school communities together. Redhill Prep School is thrilled by the considerable interest and hopes this will be the first of many annual tournaments.

The tournament will take place at Redhill Prep School, located at The Garth, Haverfordwest, SA61 2UR. Registration begins at 10 am, with gameplay commencing at 11 am. The event is expected to conclude by 2pm.

As so many local schools are participating, Redhill Prep School would welcome media attendance to help promote this inaugural event and build anticipation for the Spring 2024 tournament, to be held Saturday, March 23rd. Saturday's tournament promises an exciting day of competition and camaraderie - the start of a new Pembrokeshire tradition.
