Herbie win a low-sorer against Cresselly

Herbrandston (81 all out) beat Cresselly  (57 all out)

Herbrandston eased through against Cresselly where they could only must a lowing score but then Cresselly’s inexperience was very much in evidence as they fell 25 runs short of a first win as Herbie bowled and fielded quite well.

But a real positive in both camps is the number of teenagers involved and when Herbie batted first Atticus Kingson joined Harry Nicholas as joint top scorers on 21 as skipper Dai Malloy also chipped in with 14 alongside 13 extras, with Charlie Malloy (1) and Tom Philpott (7) run out and ‘old timer’ Rob Kingston departing for a duck.

For Cresselly, Tom Rowlands (3 for 18) and Ollie Rowlands (1 for 14) were the successful Cresselly bowlers - and Tom also led the batting before he was run out for 15, with Charlie Arthur (14) also going well until he was bowled by Attic Kingston, whose dad Rob weighed in with 2 for 6 alongside Charlie Malloy (1 for 10).

Cresselly ‘old hands’ Steve Thornton and Stefan Jenkins didn’t stay long and only last man Tom Arthur (11) and 11 extras saw Cresselly fall short.

Pembroke B ease home against ‘Golden Oldies’

Pembrokeshire Seniors (90 for 5) lost to Pembroke B (91 for 2)

Billy Wood - scored 28 and took a wicket for Pembroke BPembroke B continued their impressive start to the season as they successfully chased down the total set by a strong opposition who batted first and recovered well from the early loss of David Haynes (7), Kevin Bowen (0) and Andrew Williams (4).

But Neal Williams (eventually run out for 26) and Stuart Carpenter (retired on 25), plus Rob Nicholas’s gritty 15 not out and 12 extras at the end as Billy Wood (1 for 6 in two overs) and Ceri Brace (2 for 22) were the Pembroke wicket-takers as Charlie Perkins also bowled a tight spell.

Pembroke lost the key wicket of Will Davies (6), lbw to Carpenter (1 for 17) as Kevin Bowen (1 for 19) before Wood (28) and Brace (25) redressed the balance and Will Davidson Randell (14) took his team close before Perkins and Toby Bradley-Watson saw Pembroke home in the final over of an absorbing clash.

Openers seal Burton success

Neyland C (81 for 2) lost to Burton (83 for 3)

Morgan Scale - batted well for BurtonGood knocks by Burton openers Will Ridge and Morgan Scale batted really well to take their team to victory over a Neyland C.

There was earlier some good batting by Neyland through Ashley Watkins (run out for 23), Kieran Arran (retired on 27), Charlie French (19 not out) and John Tennick (14 not out) but the total might have been higher had they not played quite so many dot balls. Against Morgan Scale, Dan Ridge and Dan Griffiths.

Then Will Ridge (27) and Scale (25) flew out of the blocks and although Burton lost Joe John and Griffiths for ducks they had Dan Ridge (13 not out) to see them home against useful bowling by Rod Murphy (1 for 14), Watkins (1 for 19) and Arran (0 for 9).
