Herbie hold off strong Seniors’ challenge
Pembs Seniors A (121 for 3) lost to Herbrandston A (122 for 2) by 4 wickets

Pembs Seniors A produced one of their best batting performances against their counterparts from Herbrandston but the village side paced their response so well that they eased home with nine balls in hand.
David Haynes anchored the innings for a while as co-opener Andrew Williams and Alan Webster both sped to retirement with Nick Daley as strong as ever and skipper Ian Milsom provided his own unique style of batting to score late runs.
Keegan Codd was the only Herbie wicket-taker and Karl Davies and Robbie Hood gave support in terms of run rate but a finally tally of 123 certainly set Herbie a batting challenge.
And skipper Hood led his team by example as he joined Callum Power in a productive partnership that saw Herbie reach 50 in short time and when they retired Karl Davies chipped in with a few runs and big Ashley Britton bludgeoned his way to retirement with a couple of sixes and fours.
Tom Philpott hit some useful late runs to seal success for Herbrandston whilst the Seniors can be pleased overall with their batting and now need to polish their work in the field as the next stage in their development!
Seniors A Batting: David Haynes 20, Andrew Williams 26*, Alan Webster 26, Nick Daley 16*, Ian Milsom 13, Extras
Herbrandston A Bowling: Keegan Codd 1-33
Herbrandston A Batting: Callum Power 25*, Robbie Hood 26*, Karl Davies 14, Ashley Britton 26* Tom Britton 13*, Extras 12

Pembroke stay second in low-scoring tussle
Pembroke (95 for 4) beat Cresselly (64 all out) by 31 runs

Pembroke maintain their second place as they followed up victory over Cresselly with this low-scoring win that again owed much to their bowling strength as openers Krunal Patel and Callum Davies made sure that Cresselly were always behind the clock - and certainly didn’t help their cause batting wise by often trying to hit the plastic coating off the ball, rather than placing it into the corners.
Jack Harries departed early for Pembroke to a great Neal Williams’ catch as he tried to be forceful and was followed in quick succession by his next three team-mates until Gareth Long, who had opened and retired, returned to join Callum Davies in a match-defying stand where he rapped three sixes and a four to score an unbeaten half century as Pembroke at least had something to bowl at, despite useful earlier bowling by Lewis Jones, and skipper Tom Arthur.
Cresselly suffered an early body-blow as they lost regular run-gatherer Neal Williams, who was equally well-caught as revenge by Harries, and only George Davies and Milo Jones had cameos but went at key times, as only skipper Harries again featured, coming in last and looking good until he was well caught off the roof netting by Will Davies.
As usual, Patel, Callum Davies and Harris shared the Pembroke wickets and with Luke Butler not available they did well to come through against a talented Cresselly team which hasn’t quite mastered the indoor techniques but will be a strong team when they do!
Pembroke Batting: Gareth Long 50*, Callum Davies 17
Cresselly Bowling: Tom Arthur 1–24, Lewis Jones 2-13
Cresselly Batting: George Davies 13, Milo Jones 14, Tom Arthur 19
Pembroke Bowling: Krunal Patel 2-13, Callum Davies 1-12, Jack Harries 2-13
Neyland bounce back as Hook fail to shine
Neyland (140 for 0) beat Cresselly (93 all out) by 47 runs

Neyland bounced back from their first defeat from a long time as they batted superbly well against a Hook side which was unable to prevent Sean Hannon’s boys scoring a shed full of runs before easing through by restricting their opponents with good fielding and straight bowling.
Such was the Neyland batting strength that Andrew Miller batted at No 6 and wasn’t needed after Dai Davies and skipper Hannon put on 50 in four overs before retiring, having faced only 15 and 20 balls respectively, before his twin brother Patrick made a rare appearance and also looked good as he faced only 17 balls for his retirement score.
Ross Hardy smashed a six and three fours in his top score from 17 balls and Jack John chipped in with late runs and Hook needed 12 runs per over to win.
But they fell behind also from the start despite Liam Miller playing again after arriving home from university and batting really well in his 21-ball innings - and had a measure of support from Aled and Owen Phelps, but with Jack John and Patrick Hannon taking wickets, assisted by tight spells from Dai Davies and Ross Hardy, Neyland stay top with their huge points’ lead.
Neyland Batting: Sean Hannon 26*, Dai Davies 27*, Ross Hardy 30*, Patrick Hannon 25*, Jack John 21*, Extras 11
Hook Bowling; Harry Makepeace 0-20, Owen Phelps 0-27
Hook Batting: Liam Miller 26*, Adam Phelps 23, Owen Phelps 16
Neyland Bowling: Jack John 1-23, Patrick Hannon 1-24
