FAW Welsh Cup Round 2
Hakin United 4 – Taff’s Well 1
A superb second half performance earned Hakin United a thoroughly deserved four-goal Welsh Cup victory against Taff’s Well in front of a good crowd at the Observatory Ground.
The Cymru South side knew they would be in for a tough afternoon as The Vikings put the Cardiff based team to the sword.
Cracking goals by Ashley Bevan, Nicky Woodrow, Shane Walsh, and substitute Justin Harding secured their place comfortably in round three.
Scott Davies’ Vikings opened the scoring in the 21

However, the visitors levelled matters in the 28
th minute as David Lyons ghosted through the Vikings defence and he coolly slotted in the far corner.
Eleven minutes after the interval Woodrow scored with an unbelievable finish, Camron Thomas’ terrific pass saw the prolific striker nonchalantly volley some 35 yards out into the net from the touchline.

That goal rocked the visitors and inspired The Vikings. In the 69
th minute the hosts grabbed the crucial third goal of the tie, Woodrow’s pinpoint cross was met by a firm Walsh far post header.
Eight minutes later the Vikings added a fourth to put a fine shine on their highly impressive performance, Camron Thomas again the provider as Harding struck a stunning 12-yard volley which crashed into the back of the net.
