Haverfordwest County 2 – Undy Athletic 1

Haverfordwest County came from behind to secure a thoroughly deserved victory against Undy Athletic at the Conygar Bridge Meadow Stadium.

Gareth Cullimore gave the visitors the lead which was quickly cancelled out by a well taken Danny Thomas equaliser, and before the break Elliot Thomas struck the winner.

This was the Bluebirds’ sixth win of the season and this was only the second time that Undy Athletic had been beaten in the league.

Bluebirds goalkeeper Steven Hall had a relatively quiet game with centre backs Sean Pemberton and Tim Hicks looking assured in the heart of defeance alongside right back Leon Luby and left back Alaric Jones who looked threatening going forward.

Elliot Scotcher, Ricky Watts were solid in midfield and Elliot Thomas and Ashley Beven also worked tirelessly, Danny Williams and Ben Fawcett were lively up front and Tom Dyson and Jack Wilson made an impact when they came on midway through the second period.

Cullimore strikes

Some sloppy defending by the Bluebirds presented a goal scoring chance for Cullimore who confidently slotted past Hall in the 18th minute.

A minute later and Williams squared matters for the Bluebirds, the prolific goal scorer makes no mistake with a decent strike from inside the box.

The homesters took the lead in the 41st minute, Danny Williams’ cross was half cleared, only for Elliot Thomas to strike an edge of the box winner.

Incredibly there was no further scoring in the second period with the Bluebirds having most of the possession but failing to get a decent strike on target.

“I’m happy we won and kept our unbeaten run at home intact,” said Haverfordwest County manager Wayne Jones.

"They are a decent outfit and will give a lot of teams problems during the course of the season."

Haverfordwest County travel to play Cardiff Met in the League Cup on Tuesday, October 30th and next Saturday, November 3rd have home advantage against Llantwit Major in round two of the Welsh Cup.
