Five star Goodwick too hot for City slickers

Goodwick United eased into the next round with an excellent five-goal victory against Cardiff based outfit Grange Albion.
 
This cup tie was switched to the Cardiff University Sports Fields 4G pitch in Llanrumney which  kicked off at 4pm.
 
However, Chris O’Sullivan’s Phoenix Lads didn’t let the disruption upset them as they set about their business of comfortably putting the City slickers to the sword.
 
Goodwick led 2-0 at the break, then scored three further goals to comfortably reach the next round.
 
Rhys Dalling scored an absolute 25 yard hum dinger which flew in off the underside of the crossbar, five minutes before the break the visitors added a second, Dalling the provider as Will Haworth chested and finished with a neat close range finish.
 
Four minutes after the interval Goodwick continued to dominate as Haworth returned the compliment as his wicked shot was parried by Ioan Treharne parried for Dalling to finish for goal number three.
 
Substitute Kyle O’Sullivan scored a terrific fourth, the 17-year-old unleashed an unstoppable 25 yard strike which flew in the top corner.
 
In the 87th minute the visitors were awarded a penalty when Dalling was fouled, he got up dusted himself off to comfortably finish the rout with a confident 12 yard left footed finish.

Kilgetty win at Birchgrove to progress

Henry Lawrence scored crucial third goal for Kilgetty at Birchgrove ColtsKilgetty won a five-goal thriller against Birchgrove Colts to progress in the West Wales Intermediate Cup.
 
Kilgetty’s home tie was postponed twice so on the third week the rules state they have to play at Birchgrove Colts’ ground at Tir Canol.
 
Player manager Josh Bevan’s Kilgetty outfit got off to a flyer as they found themselves 2-0 ahead with 19 minutes on the clock, Henry Lawrence scored the opener before Adam Johns netted his side’s second.
 
However, the Swansea League Premier outfit hit back with two goals in eleven minutes through Jonathan Williams and Nicky Sullivan.
 
This highly entertaining cup tie saw the visitors regain the lead when Richard Tebbutt scored which gave his side a slender 3-2 cushion at half time.
 
Incredibly there were no further goals in the second half as Kilgetty hung on for victory, deep in stoppage time Birchgrove Colts skipper James Casey was sent off.
 
Next week, Kilgetty will travel again as they face Dafen Welfare in the third round of the competition.
