Tom Jordan's trumphet-playing brightens Bridge Meadow weather

Match officials observe the last post played by Tom Jordan

TJ JordanHaverfordwest County fought out a battling 1-1 draw with Barry Town at the Bridge Meadow Stadium on Tuesday evening in very damp conditions that made even the bright floodlights seem a little less strong – but the brilliant trumpet playing of Tom Jordan certainly lifted the pre-match gloom.

Tom, who hails from Pembroke Dock,  is a talented musician who also plays piano and guitar but he was there to play the ‘Last Post’ to mark The Bluebirds’ wish to show support for ‘Remembrance Sunday’ and the haunting melody certainly stirred the memories of many, like me, who lost close family whilst serving their country.

Both teams and officials stood silently in the centre circle out of respect and all the crowd stood without a sound other than Tom’s trumpet cutting through the heavy rain.

So well done Tom Jordan, who can be found playing a range of music on his ‘TJ Jordan Music’ page on Face Book – and we at PembrokeshireSport.co.uk would like to pay our small tribute to a very gifted young musician in Tom Jordan.
