It’s that time of the season where it is getting closer to crowning the champions of the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division.

League leaders Goodwick lost 2-3 at home to reigning champions Hakin United in midweek, this has put the Vikings within striking distance of winning their fourth title on the trot. Hakin United are just two points behind Goodwick United and have two games in hand, and still have to play the league leaders at home before the trophy is finally handed over.

This Saturday there was a full league programme where seven games were completed in the top flight.

In a relegation battle, Carew edged home 2-1 against Herbrandston. Ashley Smith and Corey Hill grabbed the goals for the Rooks, while Shane Walsh scored from the penalty spot for the visitors.

Leaders Goodwick United won 2-0 at home against Tenby with Chris O’Sullivan and Steffan Williams scoring the goals.

Milford United drew 3-3 with Merlins Bridge, the Robins led 3-0 thanks to a brace by Dany Raicu and a solitary strike by Liam Davies, but the Wizards fought back for a point thanks to a stunning hat-trick by Steve McNabney.

Narberth lost 0-3 at home against Angle; this win for the visitors surely guarantees them First Division football next season. An own goal and further goals by Nick Willis and Connor Willis secured the win; Pembrokeshiresport.co.uk sends best wishes and a speedy recovery to Angle’s Scott Richards who has broken his leg.

Pennar Robins were trounced 1-6 at home against Johnston. Finding the back of the net for the Tigers were Joey George (3), Bradley Barrett, Tom Wilks and Joe John.

St Clears are relegated after they lost 0-5 at home against current champions Hakin United. Nicky Woodrow smashed a hat-trick alongside further goals by Ben Steele and Scott Reid.

West Dragons won 3-2 at home against Neyland. Dragons’ goal scorers were Ashley Prior, Steve Allen and Nathan Greene, while Andy Davies and Justin Harding struck for the Nomads.
