Talented Sporting Youngsters Feature - Josh James
Number 11 - Name: Josh James
Age: 14
Club played for: Neyland and Pembrokeshire County – where I’ve been involved at u11s and 15s a year up.
People who have helped me: My dad Mark and mum Karen, who are a great help and school sports teachers like Martin Edwards, who has been brilliant.
Position: I love playing at fly half: because I enjoy controlling games - and I also love being a try scorer and place kicker.
Successes: Getting into the under 16s county (coached by Aled Walters and some other good coaches) and captaining Neyland last and this year.
Favourite local player: Alex Codd – because he’s an attacking player in the centre with Neyland – and my dad plays as well!
Favourite top sportsman: Dan Biggar because he’s passionate while playing – and I’ve seen him play a few times, which was great!
Other sports played: Football: Hakin United (left wing in the under 15scocched by Matthew Candler and Andrew Turner) and cricket with Neyland thirds last season (Phil Keene as captain). I opened the bowling and have a highest score of 64). My granddad Russell used to play a lot and he gives me help.
Ambitions: I enjoy playing rugby and hopefully will play at a higher level when I’m older, because I’m ready to work hard at it! I’m a big fan of The Ospreys – where great uncle Michael is famous!
