South Pembs Ladies retain St David’s title

South Pembs Ladies retain St David’s title

Two teams of three from South Pembrokeshire Golf Club recently entered the St Davids Golf Open and returned to South Pembs with the silverware.

The event was played on a sunny dry day with little wind and the course and greens were in good condition, and they all went out hoping to follow last year’s success when the South Pembrokeshire team of Ann Williams, Lynne Rees and Becky Jones came out winners.  This year the team of Carole Blackwell, Carole Chichester and Janet Tallett followed that success with a team stableford score of 91 as two out of three scores counted on each hole.

The ladies finished the day with a meal at a local hotel, and they thanked the lady captain and her team at St Davids for a well organised and thoroughly enjoyable day.

South Pembs Ladies win well at Cardigan

The South Pembrokeshire ladies team of Ros Williams, Anita Davies, Ann Williams, Sharon Kaye, Sara Davies, Carole Blackwell, Mary Mountney, Lynne Rees, Mary Lewis and Ria Phillips were again in top form in recently winning their league match against Cardigan by four matches to one.

Again it was played in glorious weather on a course in excellent condition in time for the Welsh Team Championship, due to be played there later this month.  The two teams enjoyed an excellent meal in the restaurant to finish the day.
