An excellent second half display by Goodwick United where they bagged five goals in total against gritty Division Two Broad Haven at Phoenix Park.
The Cup holders narrowly led 1-0 at half time as Goodwick manager Chris O’Sullivan praised the work rate and steel determination of the opposition to stop the cup holders having it all their own way.
The hosts broke the deadlock in the 32
nd minute as Steff Hayes assisted for Jonny Horgan to find the back of the net from six yards.
Just past the hour mark Goodwick added their second of the tie when skipper Scott Delaney saw his header crash against the crossbar, and Will Haworth headed home the rebound.
Jake Smith and Nathan Greene combined before midfielder Rhys Jones unleashed an unstoppable right footed shot from 16 yards which beat keeper Chris Llewellyn at his near post for the third.
Skipper Delaney instigated the fourth which ended with Greene making no mistake with a close range header.
Six minutes from full time Jones was hauled down inside the box for a stonewall penalty, which the midfielder dusted himself off and finished clinically from 12 yards to complete the scoring.
