Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League – Division 1
Goodwick United 1 – Tenby 0
Striker Rhys Dalling scored a late winner against Tenby which earned champions Goodwick United an incredible unbeaten back to back titles, after they captured their third league title on the bounce.
Manager Chris O’Sullivan was delighted that his side managed to go the whole season unbeaten. “I set my side a target to go the whole season unbeaten, to be fair they did it and made me feel very proud of their tremendous achievement,” said O’Sullivan.
“When you are the top side in the county everyone wants us to fail, but I applaud my squad who stayed focus for every league game, they have produced a remarkable achievement showing tremendous character and desire - not losing a game in two seasons, plus gone the extra mile by winning the title three times in a row.”
Tenby to their full credit played extremely well as they battled for the full 90 minutes, before narrowly losing 1-0 against the champions.
The decisive goal came in the 88th minute as Rhys Jones’ free kick was met by a powerful Sean Pemberton header only for Tenby goalkeeper Dylan Noot who parried it straight in the path of deadly Dalling who made no mistake from close range.
