Neyland B stroll home as Lewis leads from the front

Lawrenny (80 for 2) lost to Neyland B (82 for 0) by 6 wickets

Lewis Page - retired on 26 off an amazing eight balls for Neyland BJohn Tennick - 21 not out off as many balls for Neyland BDanny Potter - struck a stylish 25 not out for Neyland B

Neyland B completed a second win on the trot as they comfortably disposed of a talented young Lawrenny side which is packed with talent but still haven’t quite come to terms with the indoor game that requires finesse with ‘tip and run’ tactics rather than constant big hitting.

Once they do that they will become a force to be reckoned with – and should learn from Neyland’s top run getters Lewis Page and Dan Potter, who never miss the chance to score from every ball.

Lawrenny opener Finley Lewis led his team’s batting with 26 not out from 21 balls and Rhys Eynon also caught the eye with an unbeaten 25 from 17 deliveries but after that only ‘Mr Extras’ (11) reached double figures and Oscar Lewis was next highest scorer with 6 not out as they ran out of time as Sam Laugharne claimed 1 for 7 in his two overs and there were tight cameo spells by Potter and Charlie French.

Then Lewis Page gave Neyland a blistering start with his 26 before he retired, including two fours and a six - and was made off an amazing EIGHT BALLS – now that is power batting!!

Opening parter John Tennick was the perfect foil as he contributed  21 not out from as many balls, without a boundary but with some excellent threes for a big man.

And then veteran Dan Potter, who had led his former club Haverfordwest to Lord’s in his heyday, rounded things off nicely with two boundaries in his stylish 25 not out from 16 balls to show he hasn’t lost his touch after a lengthy period of retirement. WELCOME BACK Mr P!

Lightning strikes as Tish struggle

St Ishmaels (82 for 5) lost to Haverfordwest Lightning (84 for 3) by 3 wickets

Lewis Rhead - 40 not out for TishJason Stobbs - 29 not out for Haverfordwest LightningHaverfordwest Lightning gained a comfortable win over a depleted St Ishmaels team as Lewis Rhead showed that anything dad Karl could do in recent weeks, he is capable of matching as he scored the bulk of Tish’s runs and bowled well – but The Town had a great start to their innings via Jason Stobbs and Pete Soulsby, to win without losing a wicket and with seven balls in hand.

Phil Llewellyn managed 12 runs for Tish alongside a massive 25 extras, 20 of them wides, as Lewis struck a four and two sixes in 33 balls from his two spells at the crease and a finally tally of 40 not out – but his four other colleagues could muster just 5 runs between them as Syed Bokhari grabbed 2 for 5 in two overs and his Withybush Hospital colleagues Mudit Jain and Arun Prabhu also bowled well in support.

Jason Stobbs and Pete Soulsby got The Lightning off to a flying start in a stand of 51, with Stobbs belting three fours and a six in his 29 not out from 16 balls, and with Soulsby adding an undefeated 28  off 22 balls, including one six 0 and although Bokhari departed first ball to Phil Llewellin a cameo of 11 not out in conjunction with 13 extras saw Haverfordwest Lightning as deserved winners.

Carew coast to easy win as Seniors struggle

Carew (124 for 5) beat Pembs Seniors B (76 all out) by 48 runs

Kerry Waters - 23 not out for CarewCarew showed how they are beginning to adapt to the indoor game as they built up a sizeable total against Pembs Seniors B and then bowled and fielded well to win with plenty in hand.

Corey Hall (14),  Rhys Lewis (20), Ethan Hall (26), Jamie Heaps  (27)  all chipped in well as only Phil Keen and Julian Forster took a wicket apiec for the old timers – and Kerry Waters, who is older than some of The Vets, showed how he can still do well after a late call-up and contributed a late 23 not out to show there is life in the old boy yet!

Waters then grabbed 1 for 12 in his bowling stint to support Rhys Lewis (3 for 12) and Jamie Heaps  (2 for 17) – and Mike Williams (28) and Jonathan Twigg (24 not out) were the pick of the Seniors in terms of batting as they fell behind the clock early on and never really recovered!
