Hook U11s 345/3    Haverfordwest U11s 226/10 

Hooks batsmen amassed a very impressive 345 runs for the loss of just 3 wickets, with Oscar Willington getting off to a flyer, scoring a hard-hitting 26 runs, which included a huge six into the car park, in-fact it would have been a big six in adult cricket. This was backed up by Dylan James (20 runs) who once again chose his shots wisely and nudged the ball in to the gaps for three well deserved boundaries. The stage was set for the in-form Rhys Phelps to demonstrate his clean hitting capabilities and this was exactly what he did, with 4 sixes en-route to a faultless 39 runs off just 14 deliveries. Not to be outdone by the batsmen before him, William Harries waited patiently for the odd bad ball and made sure he put them away, scoring 25 runs, including five boundaries. One more notable batting performance came from Manny Davies who hit a classy 12 runs, including a perfect straight drive past the umpire. 
The pick of the Haverfordwest bowlers was Finley Atyeo, who bowled really well, picking up 2 wickets for 15 runs, both clean bowled with some really accurate line and length bowling. He was supported really well by Rahul, who also showed off his bowling skills by taking 1-18. Credit must go to the young Haverfordwest bowlers who never gave up and their ground fielding was magnificent, never afraid to get behind the ball. 

In response to the Hook total, Haverfordwest defended their wicket well, despite some express pace  bowling from Oscar Willington who picked up 2 wickets for zero runs. Finley Atyeo was the star man for Haverfordwest as he hit three boundaries in his 15 runs. Finley's fine knock was backed up really well by Siduk who scored 11 runs, including possibly one of the shots of the day as he picked one up off his toes and lofted it over the square leg boundary for six. William Harries was having a full day out as he took 2-6 during his spell to add to his 25 runs earlier. Not to be outdone by the older lads, young George Luff showed he's definitely one to watch for the future as he took 2-16 with some excellent bowling, with each ball getting better and better. Jack Thomas 1-6, Rhys Phelps 1-12 and Manny Davies 1-14 all grabbed a wicket apiece as Haverfordwest were restricted to 226/10. 

An excellent match played out by 20 young children who really enjoyed themselves and played the whole game with a smile on their faces.  


Under 13's

Very good performances and a  good win from Pembroke dock played in great spirits well done all involved


Hook 108 for 7  Neyland 81 for 4 

These young teams produced a really excellent game of cricket with no shortage of skills on show. The standard of batting, bowling and ground fielding was excellent and a real credit to the young players. The spirit too was great to see.

Hook batted first totalling 108 for 7. The total could have been higher but for a determind bowling effort from the Neyland team. Charlie Malloy and Owen Rickard opened up and bowled an excellent line and length without reward. But the bowlers kept probing and received due reward with wickets going to Atticus Kingston 1 for 12, Ashley Watkins 1 for 22, Korey Arran 1 for 9, Ashton O’Riordan 1 for 5 and Lennon Howlett 1 for 14.

For Hook, Liam Miller once again opened up with an excellent knock of 25 retired including four boundaries. Ollie Rees made a patient 8 runs before Dillon James was run out for 4. Rhys Phelps 3 and Toby Price 1 and Dylan Rowles, run out, followed soon after with Hook in a spot of bother. This brought together Oscar Willington and Oliver Haltam. This pair batted superbly in a crucial partnership of 28. Oliver made a vital 5 runs, with Oscar going to retire unbeaten on 28 including three boundaries and finishing with a big six. Noah 2 and Bailey Goodridge 4 then took Hook to the close, Bailey finishing the innings with a lovely boundary.

In reply Neyland made a really solid effort, reaching a total of 81. Charlie Malloy led the way with a well compiled 25 retired. Charlie batted very nicely, scoring runs all-round the wicket. The Hook bowlers though maintained a very good line and gave the batsmen very little to attack. Nevertheless, Callum Britton 8 and Mason Kerrison 7 showed real grit and battled away determind not to give their wickets away.

For Hook, Ollie Rees led the way with 2 for 7 in a very good spell. Jack Phillips 0 for 11 was very unlucky not to strike as was Dillon James 0 for 5. Kieran Sinclair snapped up 1 for 20 in a good spell, with Toby Price and Rhys Phelps combining to bowl three maidens. Oscar Willington then came on to pick up 1 for 0 in his single over and bring the match to a close.

This was an excellent game of cricket and a great advert for junior sport.
