Nick deservedly receives June 'Player of the Month' award

Brian Hawkins of Thomas Carroll hands over a cheque to Nick Cope with Paul Webb in attendance

Nick Cope was the deserved recipient of the Player of the Month award for June 2019 as reward for his outstanding performances as a key all-rounder in the first division with Saundersfoot Cricket Club.

Provided by Thomas Carroll Group PLC, the sponsors of the Pembroke County Cricket Club, the award recognised Nick’s performances with both bat and ball, which culminated with a superb innings 0f 119 against Llangwm that included boundaries and sixes that sped to all parts of the boundary.

Nick also scored 54 against Whitland, as well as claiming 3 for 1 and 32 alongside 2 for 32 against Carew.

More runs – and wickets too!

He grabbed two wickets at Burton, the only game he failed to score heavily, but more than made amends with 56 against St Ishmaels as well as a 4 for 56 haul.

In the Harrison-Allen Bowl he helped The Seasiders beat Cresselly with 14 quick runs and some superbly economical bowling that saw him bowl his six overs for a miserly 17 runs – but in July was part of the team that just failed to beat Lawrenny in the semi-final.

The award was presented by Brian Hawkins, who works in the Thomas Carroll office in Haverfordwest, with county club chairman Paul Webb in attendance, as always.
