THERE were only four games played in the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division with the top clash between Narberth and West Dragons abandoned after 55 minutes at Jesse Road.
The league leaders Narberth were trailing
1-0 when Dragons' Andy Mathias was involved in a heavy collision, that saw the game abandoned as the goalkeeper was taken to hospital with a suspected broken jaw and he also had some teeth dislodged. Pembrokeshiresport.co.uk wishes Andy a speedy recovery.
Merlins Bridge moved up the table to third after an impressive
4-1 victory at Neyland. Matthew D’Ivry (2), Stephen McNabney and Nathan Greene bagged the goals for the visitors, whilst Patrick Bellerby scored a consolation effort for the Nomads.
Fourth placed Goodwick United won
3-0 at Monkton Swifts all the goals were bagged by Rhys Dalling for the visitors.
In the bottom end of the table, Pennar Robins gained an important
1-0 victory at home against St Ishmaels. The only goal was scored in the second half by Phil Thompson.
Shock cup exit for Vikings
The shock result in the Senior Cup second round was Tenby defeating one of the favourites Hakin United
2-0 at home. Sam Christopher scored in the first half and Billy Vaughan added a second goal ten minutes from full time, and now Tenby will face Second Division Fishguard Sports at home in the quarter finals.
Holders Johnston travelled to Saundersfoot and came away with an emphatic
7-1 victory. Adam Hawkins and Nicky Woodrow netted a brace apiece with Ben Phillips, Andrew John and James Skudder also adding their names to the visitors’ score sheet and Geoff Marsh scored the Sports’ solitary goal.
Hundleton and St Clears drew
2-2 after 90 minutes as both teams agreed to abandon the cup-tie as the weather and light went against them. Craig Manning and Marc Edwards netted for the homesters and Steve Thomas (penalty) and Nathan Evans bagged the goals for the visitors who will have to replay the tie at the Saints’ ground.
