 Ryan Morton (Captain)

1. Ryan Morton (Captain)    Aged 23          Carpenter

“Rhino” is in his first season as captain and is leading his young team with his typical mild and gentle approach to the game! He is a huge player for the team in all aspects and will look to lead from the front. Loves to leave early to go for meals. Has a keen interest in ducks!!

Pros - Song choice on boom box and top all-rounder.
Cons - keeps batting order a secret and longest in shower.

Troy Purslowe (VC)

2. Troy Purslowe (VC)          33                    Carpenter

‘Righto’ Troy is our class batsman and is an absolute joy to watch. His fielding is also of the highest calibre. He is a typical Aussie and will be up for it all day! Someone who all our young guns look up to. Loves watching women’s cricket and mid-season holidays!!

Pros - can open the beers without a bottle opener.
Cons - shakes everyone’s hand when they score runs against us and collects sub money.

Harry Thomas

3. Harry Thomas                   27                    Community Officer, Haverfordwest County AFC

“H” has been our most consistent batsman for the last few years, and when he gets in hits it as far as anyone! He is also a more than useful slow medium bowler! His slip fielding is nothing more than a joy to watch. Loves his new role as fine master and leaving early for meals!!

Pros - his athleticism in the field/quick singles
Cons - absolutely none!!

Tom Cole

4. Tom Cole                            23                    Tractor Driver

“Tombine” is a another one of our experienced players. He is always loud in the field and someone the youngsters can go to for advice!! He loves hitting sixes, is an outstanding slow bowler and one of our best fielders. Another who has a keen interest in ducks!!

Pros - hitting massive sixes & his Mr impression.
Cons - falling asleep.

Joe Kidney

5. Joe Kidney                                     33                    Plumber

“Kidders” is a hugely experienced player and someone you can rely on when the chips are down. He is constantly encouraging the “young guns “ and is someone they all look up to. He has made massive progress this year as he now has lace up trainers instead of Velcro. Another who has a keen interest in ducks!!

Pros - all round banter
Cons - bowling

Will Nicholas

6. Will Nicholas                                 21                    Heatherton Worker

“Windmill” joined us this season and has fitted in seamlessly. Has scored his fair share of runs and is our back up keeper. He is a more than useful fielder when he can stay on his feet and will hopefully serve the club for many years. Bit of a hit with the girls, loves a pint!

Pros - steady bag and fantastic hair
Cons - top snitch for fines and swaggers when walking out to bat.

Will Allen

7. Will Allen                           18                    Marquee Erector

“Wispa” is one of the young brigades who loves getting in amongst it. He will probably be the loudest player on the field today as he is every week. Another who loves hitting sixes. Will runs the changing room music and together with Fin are the changing room jokers. Another who loves ducks!!

Pros - owner of the boom box, loudest in the team
Cons - never plays sober and catching!

Finley Lewis

8. Finley Lewis                                  17                    Student

“Finners” is another of our young guns, his bowling and fielding are as important to our team as him staying in on a Friday night. Loves a red bull or 2. Thinks of himself as the better “Lewis”. Along with Will keeps up the tradition of changing room antics. Also has a fascination with ducks!!

Pros - all rounder & top fielder
Cons - beers on a Friday night!!

Oscar Lewis

9. Oscar Lewis                                   15                    Student

“Oggy” is the puppy of the team that is also the coolest of them all. It’s his first season in the firsts and he has been an unbelievable breath of fresh air that the team needed! Following in  his father’s footsteps, he is building himself to become another huge hit in Pembrokeshire cricket and evidently shown in the previous round by completing a hat trick. Hoping for more today!!!

Pros - ice man and all rounder
Cons - his obsession with putting car hazards on when others are driving!

Rhys Eynon

10. Rhys Eynon                                 17                    Tractor Driver

“Ham” is the team’s spinner & our premier boundary fielder, he loves nothing more than charging round the outfield every week. A more than capable batter. Another who is very loud in the field. Also loves tractors and is fond of racing pigeons!

Pros - Spin bowler and great crack on the beer
Cons - coming down the track & song choices!

Rob Williams

11. Rob Williams                   48                    Estate Groundsman

“Worm” has recently become semi-retired due to becoming a professional festival goer/camper. When he does play, he still runs in like a teenager and throws himself about in the field. Worm is one of the famous “Lawrenny dinosaurs”, his experience in tight situations will no doubt be on show!

Pros - Talc Supplier
Cons - steals his children’s teas to avoid fines.

Noah Williams

12. Noah Williams                 17                    Student
“Bricks” is a young fast bowler from the Williams clan!!  He’s been playing at Lawrenny since he was a nipper.  He loves to pad up when he feels like it.  Thinks of himself as the better Williams.

Pros – promising bowler and specialist fielder with his feet.
Cons – fields with his feet and yet to provide the beers after the game (he’s tight).

Alfie Buckle

 13. Alfie Buckle                   21                    Food delivery operative

“Buzz” is a hard-hitting batsman who can score very quickly when he’s in,  a specialist gully fielder who loves a wearing a jumper. Adopts animals, would stop the game to check if the ferry’s arrived on time!!! Drinks Rekorderling by the bucket!

Pros - destructive bat and now runs 3’s
Cons - chief of the rumours and doesn’t rotate the driving for Bucks senior to have a few pints.

Malcolm Thomas
14. Malcolm Thomas            Scorer             Retired

Malcolm has scored in five previous Bowl Finals and a similar number of DR Morris Cup Finals and is rightly held in high regard by players, officials other scorers around the county because he does such a great job.

He has been involved with Lawrenny since he was a nipper and watched his dad Elliott umpire for the village team. He retired last as Hon Treasurer after 50 years, has been the groundsman for well over three decades and scored for almost that long as well.

The respect is fully deserved at the club because Malcolm types everything that is good al Lawrenny Cricket Club!
