Neyland 273 for 4 lost to Cleddau Colts 275 for 1 by 2 runs

An excellent game of cricket between these two young teams came down to the last two balls before the result was finally decided. Both teams should take great credit for providing such an entertaining game where it has to be said a tie would have been a fair reflection of the game, neither deserving to lose.

The Colts batted first and lost only one wicket in their innings, which was to prove crucial. Jack Phillips led the scoring stakes with 14 including a superb off drive for four. He was well supported by Sonny Zipperlen and Keiran Sinclair with 9 runs each, Keiran hitting the boundary with a glorious on drive and Sonny with two solid pull shots. Toby Price chipped in with a solid 7 runs. The Neyland team bowled really well but managed just that one wicket, Korey snapping that one up. Despite not taking a wicket both Sammy and Owen bowled very well indeed. Some of the ground fielding was very pleasing on the eye.

In reply Neyland produced an excellent team batting performance. Some very good boundaries were hit but it was the running between the wickets which stood out. This was excellent for under 11 cricket and praise should go to coach Ian Milsom and the boys. Korey and Sammy both scored 16 to lead the way in chasing victory. Korey hit several excellent boundaries. Sammy batted with brother Tommy and these two caused havoc with their running, picking up singles almost at will. For the Colts Charlie Kelly picked up 2 wickets and Keiran 1. It came to the last over and last two balls and Jack Thomas proved the Colts' hero taking a wicket with the penultimate ball.

The game was a great advert for junior sport; two well matched teams, great spirit, boys playing with smiles and not a football in sight!!

Cleddau Colts 243 for 5 beat Hundleton 209 for 10 by 34 runs

Another beautiful evening for junior cricket saw the Colts' bowling performance seal a win. Batting first Jack Phillips led the way for the Colts with 13, supported by Toby Price and Keiran Sinclair with 9 runs each. Ned Wigmore-Rees played an excellent pull shot to score a boundary from the last ball of the innings.

For Hundleton Tom Callan took an excellent 2 for 7, the other wickets shared by George Jones, Josh Lewis and Corey Mathias. Hundleton found it hard going as the Colts bowled really accurately to take 10 wickets. Jack Phillips, Toby and Dylan Rowles all picked up one each.

Keiran Sinclair took an excellent 3 for 7 but Charlie Kelly topped that with 4 for 12. For Hundleton Tom Callan topped the scoring stakes with an excellent 13 runs. Another thoroughly enjoyable evening of junior cricket played in an excellent spirit.
