On Friday night the Centenary Shield match between Wales U18s and England U18s at Slough Town FC, Haverfordwest County were represented by Jack Wilson, who was in the starting XI, and Alaric Jones who was named as a substitute.

Alaric only returned to action last Saturday following a 10 week lay-off due to minor surgery, but the Welsh management were keen to get him back and named him on the bench.

In a tight first period the England side created the better chances with the Welsh defence working hard to keep them out.

Wales’ Jack Wilson had the ball in the net from a corner but was deemed offside just before half time and that would have given them the lead slightly against the run of play.

Second half started with Alaric Jones coming on the field and handed the Wales Captain armband.

Jack had a couple of good runs and Alaric sweeping up everything England threw at them on one occasion he pinched the ball from an English forward and outpaced the midfield and fired his shot just past the top corner with the English keeper struggling.

The winning goal was scored in 90th minute, a nice run through the middle by Wilson saw a scramble inside the box and the ball fell nicely for the Wales Sub to tap home for Charlie Caton. Next Thursday Wales play Ireland in Aberystwyth.
