Indoor Cricket - Division Two - Round 6 - 19th November 2025
Venue: Neyland Community Hub
Umpires: Neill Crawshaw & Ian Milsom
Match One:
Lawrenny (98 for 1) lost to St Ishmaels (99 for 4) by 2 wickets

Lawrenny and St Ishmaels gave the evening a lively start in a sharp contrast of youthful exuberance from Lawrenny and a far more experienced St Ishmaels side where five of their sextet could be considered at least in the veteran’s stage of their careers but still playing with eagerness and commitment far beyond their advanced years.
Lawrenny lost Taylor Rees for 10 but then Finley Lewis (retired on 27 in 16 balls), Ross Eynon (25 when he retired after 16 balls), Oscar Lewis (16 not out in 8 balls) and Will Allen (12 not out in 7 balls) took their side to what looked a good score as only Lenny Rees (1 for 14) claimed a wicket and ‘youngster’ Lewis Rhead bowled really well.
Tish started well before Kevin Bowen departed for 11 – and then Rhead and Huw Scriven took charge so that they reached their target in only 8.2 of their ten overs, albeit having lost four wickets, with Rhys Eynon completing a good all-round performance for Lawrenny with 2 for 9.
Wicket-keeper Scriven, who looked sharp as ever behind the stumps, also ran well between the wickers as he scored 26 in only 11 deliveries, including two fours) but Rhead was again the batting star with a peerless 43 not out that only took 21 balls, and included two fours and two sixes to show that he cam now be considered as one of the best all-rounders in local indoor cricket.
Match Two:
Herbrandston B (80 for 5) beat lost to Carew (81 for 2) by 4 wickets

Herbrandston’s up and down season continued as they lost wickets regularly to record a final tally that does not reflect their true ability, allowing Carew to return to winning with three balls left and showing how quickly they are adapting to the needs of the indoor game.
As usual, Charlie Malloy contributed 26 before he retired after facing only 16 balls (two fours) and Morgan Lewis found the back well twice in his 20 before skipper Johnny Lewis huffed and puffed his way to 10 not out as last man – and 12 extras took them to 80 for 5 wickets.
Noah Davies retired on 26 after rapping three fours and opening partner Rhys Lewis (20) helped give Carew a very good start before they lost cheap wickets – but bounced back as Jacob Knox blasted 1 quick-fire 24 in 11 balls that contained a hard-hit six to the back wall.
11 from ‘Mr Extras’ certainly helped Carew as Dillon Lewis again featured with the ball for Herbie as he claimed a miserly 1 for 2 in his two overs – and one of them gave him his FOURTH MAIDEN in his last six overs; something that must be a record in our indoor league set-up – SO WELL DONE DILLON!
Match Three:
Haverfordwest Lightning (123 for 5) beat Pembs Seniors B (78 for 5) by 45 runs

Haverfordwest Lightning comfortably won their match with the Pembs Seniors as they had good batting contributions from several players, especially openers Doug Johnson and Mark Davies as they sped to 50 in only the fourth over, whilst The Seniors B had only Jonathan Twigg making a significant contribution without double figures from anyone else.
Another illuminating statistic was the fact that the ‘Old Timers’ could only muster three boundaries and a solitary six, whilst Lightning struck with six fours and EIGHT sixes, including three in one over after Johnston returned for a second stint late on.
Johnson smashed 48 alongside 28 from skipper Davies and although they lost two quick wickets in the inevitable late chase for runs a speedy 28 by Mudit Jain took them to their huge score, despite good bowling by Mo Asher (2 for 13) and Mark Evans (1 for 11).
But The Seniors struggled against tight two-over spells from Arun Prabhu, Brandon Dewstowe, Mudit Jain and Mark Davies, who each took a wicket alongside only eight runs conceded by Johnston and it was only No 3 Twigg who ever looked settled and after retiring on 25 he eventually returned to finish on 33 not out from their 61 runs that came from the bat.
It meant that Haverfordwest remain in contention at the top with this fourth win from their last 5 starts – and a fifth successive defeat by the Seniors B, who as usual never gave up trying but came up against a team loaded with big hitters and paid the price after such a slow start in the field.
