Herbie hitters destroy The Seniors

Herbrandston B (129 for 2) beat Pembs Seniors B (48 all out) by 81 runs

Morgan Britton - more runs for HerbieDillon Lewis - Excellent batting and a maiden over for HerbieHerbrandston B lost their first wicket with 1 on the board and the second 128 runs later as skipper Johnny Lewis was run out without facing a ball as he and Jack Badham scored seven off the ball from a series of errors by the Seniors B and he attempted another run!

But After Atticus Kingston departed first ball, bowled by Marc Evans it was  a run fest as Malloy and the other youngsters in the team smashed their way to big runs as Malloy faced only 19 balls  alongside Britton (14 balls), Badham (16 balls) and Dillon Lewis (12 balls) – and this quick-silver quartet shared ten fours and two sixes!

In stark contrast, only Mike Williams and ‘Mr Extras’ managed double figures for the old-timers and only opener Phil Keen (7 off four balls) managed to score at a run a ball and they managed just a single boundary against tight bowling and fielding by the opposition, with Charlie Malloy grabbing the last two wickets for a single – and teenager Dillon Lewis bowling  a maiden over, his third from the last four overs he has bowled indoors this season!

Carew (107 for 4) lost to Lawrenny (109 for 2) by 4 wickets

Noah Davies - again top-scored for CarewRhys Eynon batted really well for Lawrenny as they beat CarewLawrenny claimed victory in the first-ever indoor match between these two South County rivals in what was the closest and arguably most entertaining match of the evening – with Lawrenny reaching their three-figure target with just three balls remaining of their allotted ten overs.

Noah Davies (33 from 24 balls) and Corey Hall (30 in 17 deliveries) got The Rooks off to a flying start  and although they lost a couple of wickets cheaply a brisk 22 (in all balls) from Ethan Hall took them to a challenging tally as Taylor Lewis and his namesake Oscar were the pick of the Lawrenny bowlers.

Then the Lewis brothers, Finley and Oscar got their side off to a great start after Will Allen departed for eight runs, respectively taking only  13 and 14 balls to really put them on the front foot. Rhys Eynon continued the assault before he retired and then double figures from Taylor Lewis in only five balls ensured a win for Lawrenny as Noah Williams hit the winning runs from the only ball he faced.

Lawrenny Bowling: Taylor Lewis 2-17,  Oscar Lewis 1-20,

Kevin Bowen and Stuart Carpenter in the summer - but still playing like youngsters for Tish indoors

Tish win low-scoring tussle

St Ishmaels (87 for 2) beat Neyland B (77 for 2) by 10 runs

Dylan James, top batsman for Neyland BThe evening ended with another low-scoring battle where St Ishmaels could only muster 87 runs whilst losing only two wickets, before Neyland also lost a wicket-brace but ended their ten overs still 11 runs short as Tish’s greater experience showed.

In fact, the bulk of the Tish runs were shared by a trio whose combined ages were over 160 but Stuart Carpenter and Kevin Bowen are seasoned regulars in Seniors’ Cricket and put that to good use alongside Andrew Williams, plus double figures from Phil Llewellyn; a proven run-maker, and Neyland’s bowlers did well to restrict them as Lewis Page was the pick of their attack.

Page also opened the batting and managed double figures but it was talented teenager Dylan James who looked in splendid nick before he retired. He was supported by other youngsters in Ashley Watkins and Charlie French but they were unable to quite keep up with the retired run rate as Lewis Rhead and Stuart Carpenter claimed the Tish wickets - and both Bowen and Williams conceded only ten runs apiece in miserly two-over spells!

St Ishmaels Batting: Stuart Carpenter 26, Kevin Bowen 18*, Andrew Williams 14*, Phil Llewellyn 14, Extras 11
Neyland B Bowling: Lewis Page 1-12, Charlie French 1-21
Neyland B Batting: Lewis Page 10, Dylan James 25, Ashley Watkins 17*, Charlie French 15*
St Ishmaels Bowling:  Lewis Rhead 1-15, Stuart Carpenter 1-23, Kevin Bowen 0-10, Andrew Williams 0-10
