Herbrandston lose for first time as Hakin and Johnston progress in FAW Trophy

There were five games played in the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division on Saturday, as both Hakin United and Johnston had home ties in the FAW Trophy second round.

Merlins Bridge inflicted a first defeat of the season against Herbrandston; the Wizards won 5-4 in a cracking match on The Racecourse. Jordan Raymond (2), Stephen McNabney, Daniel Bryce and substitute Nathan Greene scored for the homesters, whilst Alex Ouzman (2), Scott Reid and Shane Walsh bagged goals for the unlucky visitors.

Goodwick United are third in the table after winning 3-0 at West Dragons. Stephen Evans, better known as Tinker, scored twice alongside an own goal.

Pennar Robins are fourth in the table after defeating Narberth 3-2 at Bush Camp. Sam Southcott scored a brace for The Robins alongside an Adam John strike. Dorian Davies and Ashley Williams replied for the luckless Bluebirds.

Monkton Swifts shaded a 2-1 victory at home against Saundersfoot Sports. Chris Millward struck the opener that gave The Sports the lead, but The Swifts hit back with goals by Michael Canton and Ryan Griffiths to secure the points.

St Clears defeated Tenby 5-4 in a thrilling encounter. The star for The Saints was Sean Seymour-Davies who grabbed a brilliant hat-trick alongside goals by team mates Josh Jones and Aiden Rainbow. The Seasiders struck with goals by Sonny Phillips (2), Joe Leahy and Jack Christopher.
 
Hakin United eased into the third round of the FAW Trophy with a convincing 5-1 win against Pengelli United at home. Peter Lewis gave the visitors a slender lead at half time, but the Vikings rallied in the second half with goals by Justin Harding, Stevie Mathias, Jonty Bennett, Ashley Bevan and Adam Davies.

Johnston crushed Bonymaen Colts 7-1 at home in the FAW Trophy. Ryan Doyle (2), Adam Hawkins (2), Andrew Murray (2) and Luke Hayward scored for The Tigers who cruised into the third round.
