Great financial support on offer for Pembrokeshire’s sporting clubs

Alan JonesThere is some good news for sporting clubs in Pembrokeshire today, despite their not being able to have any sporting activities and some are naturally very worried about providing the necessary funding to stay viable.

But available again is the the Sport Wales ‘Be Active Wales Fund’ which has already helped a number of clubs in our county with financial support – and which van be accessed via Sport Wales.

Information has come our way on this occasion, as in previous times, by Alan Jones, of Sport Pembrokeshire, and there are two elements to the grant: namely ‘Protect’ and ‘Progress’.

Protect: to help clubs cover the cost of rent, insurance and utility bills whilst restrictions are in place.

Progress: to help with development projects that address inequalities, long term sustainability and innovation.  We have seen clubs access funds for coach education courses, first aid training, small items of equipment as well as for larger projects such as development of club practice facilities.

Grants of £300 - £50,000* are available.

* You will need to make a contribution of 10% for grants over £10k or 20% over £25k.
