Elements has been a boost to gymnastics

One of the most rapidly-rising gymnastics Clubs in South Wales is the Elements Gymnastics Academy, which was formed by Jadie Edwards in November 2012 and is a non-profit organisation that provides gymnastics activities within the Pembroke/Pembroke Dock area, plus Narberth.

Since forming the club it has continued to grow with such success that it now has 294 members and a waiting list of 30 children.

Elements works from 21C Foundry House Community Centre in Pembroke and the Bloomfield Centre, Narberth, with disciplines offered at present comprising Pre-school, Disability Gymnastics, Women’s Artistic, General Gymnastics and Tumbling.

Gymnasts have had many successes in such short time at competitions like Women’s Artistic, Regional and Club grades, Women’s Artistic preparation Levels and West Area Prelims.

Jadie Edwards is the Head Coach and was awarded “Young Coach of the Year” throughout Wales for 2014 by Welsh Gymnastics.

Jadie gained the award for having developed a gymnastics club offering just one session per week to having two clubs with the main base in Pembroke and a satellite club in Narberth, running 15 sessions per week, with a total of 294 members. Jadie has also mentored three coaches who have successfully gained level 1 and 2 gymnastic qualifications.

Due to the increase in members the club is now in a position of needing a bigger facility that meets the growing requirements for South Pembrokeshire.

To gain such a facility, Elements Gymnastics Academy needs to raise £25,000 in order to pay Legal Support, Transfer fees, Bond, Rent and Equipment for a suitable facility. The membership will cover on-going rent, lighting, heating and ongoing expenses.

The facility would then be fully equipped with gymnastic equipment and learning aids for all children and young adults from the community to develop their skills, and allow gymnastic development for attendance at further competitions.

This would allow for Fun for Babies through to general gymnastics, through to Elite gymnastics for people within the South of Pembrokeshire.

Such a facility would then offer more opportunities to children and young people in this community, and as new disciplines will become available in the future it will create more opportunities to develop a workforce for the younger generation by becoming Sports Leaders and qualified gymnastics coaches, promoting a healthier and active lifestyle for all these young people.

Jadie has had support from her Professional Body Welsh Gymnastics in order to develop Elements.
