Busy afternoon with four teams from County reaching last 16 of West Wales Intermediate Cup


Scott Ferney was the toast of Carew - bagging a stunning hat-trickIt was a busy afternoon, four Pembrokeshire teams successfully reaching the last 16 of the West Wales Intermediate Cup, and there were five Manderwood Pembrokeshire Football League First Division games played.

Starting in the West Wales Intermediate Cup, Carew were too strong for Evans & Williams, the Rooks winning 5-0 and the goal scorers were Scott Ferney with a hat-trick, and one apiece for brothers Sam and Jack Christopher.

Adam Raymond scored a brace alongside a goal for teammate Iestyn Evans as Goodwick United won 3-0 against CRC Rangers at Phoenix Park.

Hakin United put on an impressive display to win 6-2 at home against Seaside. The Vikings’ scorers were Ben Fawcett (2), Ben Steele, Justin Harding, Jack Wilson and Ryan Wilson.

Trostre Sports lost 2-4 at home against Merlins Bridge, The Wizards’ scorers were shared by Adam Hawkins, Simon Thomas, Will Haworth and Luke Hayward.

In the First Division, Second placed Narberth came away with a 1-3 victory at bottom of the table Milford United. Liam Parr was on target for The Robins, but The Bluebirds secured the points with a brace by Dafydd Wright and a goal scored by Jordan Williams.

Angles Josh Richards puts in a strong tackle on Dragons Scott CrawfordNeyland were convincingly beaten by Clarbeston Road 0-5 at home, The Road’s scorers were a brilliant Tom Reubens hat-trick and a goal each for Jason Griffiths and Ben Stevens.

Herbrandston suffered a heavy 1-5 defeat at home against Pennar Robins. Scott Reid scored for the homesters, but the visitors secured the points with a brace each for Sam Southcott and Phil John, and Craig Asparassa also added his name to the score sheet.

Monkton Swifts gained a comfortable 5-1 victory against derby rivals Lamphey at Monkton Lane. Hat-trick hero James Russell led the way with further goals from team mates Rhys Davies and Josh Dearsley, The Stags’ solitary goal scorer was Josh Sture.

West Dragons suffered a 0-1 defeat at home against Angle; Chris Richards scored a second half winner, and earned the visitors three precious league points.
