Haverfordwest County secured a hard fought victory at Cwmbran Celtic and now the Bluebirds need just a point to secure runners up spot in their final game at Caerau Ely next Saturday.
The Bluebirds scored three goals in a five minute purple patch to grab this game by the scruff, ut Cwmbran Celtic mounted a serious fightback as the visitors clung on for three precious points.
Terrific free kick
Elliot Scotcher opened the scoring with a terrific free-kick which bent around the wall and flew into the back of the net.
The busy Greg Walters set-up Steffan Williams for the second goal; the striker clinically finishing from six yards out.
Then skipper Sean Pemberton’s shot took a wicked deflection to put his side three-goals up, but just before the break the homesters were awarded a soft penalty when Tim Hicks was adjudged to have struck his hand. Chris Ham made no mistake from the resultant penalty as the visitors led 3-1 at half time.
Ham scores second goal of game
On the 70 minute Cwmbran Celtic grabbed their second goal of the game, Ham struck a superb bending free kick.
The homesters were reduced to ten-men as The Bluebirds closed out the game much to the delight of manager Sean Cresser.
