Penybont 3 – Haverfordwest County 1

Haverfordwest County suffered an extremely disappointing defeat on the road against Penybont.

The Bluebirds shipped two early goals, and despite having plenty of possession the visitors were guilty of not taking their goal scoring chances.

Two quick goals

Two goals in the eighth and ten minutes put the homesters in the driving seat. Liam Walsh struck the opener and Owain Warlow was on target with the second to give Penybont a comfortable 2-0 cushion at half time.

After the break and the hosts put the game to bed as Adam Carpenter added his side’s third goal.

Williams scores in vain

Shortly after the break and Greg Walters rattled Rhys Wilson’s crossbar, Danny Williams struck wide and in the 75th minute Steffan Williams drilled home from 15 yards, but unfortunately for The Bluebirds they failed to add to their goals tally, despite substitute Charlie Davies who struck a vicious rising shot over the bar deep in injury time.
