Haverfordwest County 5 – Colwyn Bay 0

Haverfordwest County put on a five-star performance to secure a comfortable victory against rock bottom Colwyn Bay at the Ogi Bridge Meadow Stadium.

Man of the match Martell Taylor-Crossdale bagged his first senior hat-trick for the Bluebirds, Rio Dyer added his name to the score sheet along side 17-year-old substitute Dan John, scored his first senior goal for the club.

The visitors created a few decent chances as skipper Thomas McCready saw his close range header brilliantly saved by Zac Jones, also the Bluebirds’ excellent shot stopper pulled of a low diving save to deny Jamie Cumming, as Pennock’s men kept a clean sheet.

The Seagulls started brightly, but the Bluebirds comfortably soaked up the early pressure before they opened their goal scoring account when midfielder Tyrese Owen slipped a clever pass behind the Seagulls’ defence which allowed Taylor-Crossdale latched onto it and buried a low across the box shot from a tight angle into the far corner.

In the 18th minute the hosts doubled the lead as goalmouth scramble saw Dyer react quickest to steer his shot in the far corner.

On the 29 minute mark Owen and Seagulls’ goalkeeper Alfie Brooks collided, both players are treated and continue, but the keeper was then replaced by Sam Downey, as outfield player Sam Hart put on the keeper’s jersey.

The Bluebirds were also forced to make a first half substitution as Aidan MacNamara was clearly struggling and he was replaced by Kayden Williams-Lowe.

Just before the interval Taylor-Crossdale grabbed his second of the game as he finished clinically from inside the box as Pennock’s men had a healthy three-goal cushion at half time.

After the break the dangerous Taylor-Crossdale cut in from the left before he drilled a low edge of the area shot straight to stand-in keeper Hart, who fumbled and re gathered.

The Bluebirds added a fourth as Dyer broke clear from halfway unselfishly squared to Taylor-Crossdale inside the box, he beat a defender before coolly slotting past Hart for a thoroughly deserved hat-trick.

Six minute before full time the hosts bagged their fifth, Iori Humphreys found Dan John who  made no mistake from inside the box, as the teenager celebrated his first senior goal for the club.
