Haverfordwest County 0 – Aberystwyth Town 1

Jamie Bradford scored a late winner to earn Aberystwyth Town a surprise victory against Haverfordwest County at the Bridge Meadow Stadium under lights.
Last month The Bluebirds incredibly won 6-0 at Park Avenue, however, this hard-fought clash ended with Bradford pinching a soft late winner for The Seasiders against the stunned Bluebirds.
Nicky Hayen’s Bluebirds recently went on an impressive six-match unbeaten run, but now they have lost two games on the bounce, which is not really what the club or fans were expecting.
The hosts played with the wind at their backs in the first period, and in the initial stages Jordan Davies cut inside and curled a good effort wide of the target.
At the other end Jamie Veale struck a snapshot from the edge of the 18-yard box well wide.

Quick feet

Ben Fawcett used quick feet inside the box to get his shot away only for Gregor Zabret to deny him, and minutes later midfielder Corey Shephard struck his shot well over the crossbar.
Lively wide-sided midfielder Jack Wilson fashioned a shot straight to Zabret, before Shephard wasted another good chance as he fired high and wide. Zabret fumbled as Wilson headed the loose ball only for the Aber defence to block it.
After the break, The Seasiders had a chance but Steffan Davies who lobbed wide from an acute angle - and at the other end Wilson flashed a dangerous shot inches wide of the woodwork.
The Bluebirds kept pushing forward as Davies’ close-range effort was blocked but from the rebound Shephard blazed over the crossbar.

Both teams make changes

In the 68th minute both teams made substitutions as Shephard was replaced in midfield by Kieran Lewis for the Bluebirds whilst Owain Jones came on for striker Ben Wynne for Seasiders.
Keeper Lee Idzi pulled off two cracking saves to deny Jones from making an immediate impact for the Seasiders.
Bradford strikes winner
In the 82nd minute Braford poked home from a poorly-defended free kick to give his side the lead, but more importantly for the visitors his crucial touch turned out to be the winner.

This Saturday, 9th April, Haverfordwest County travel to rock bottom of the table at Cefn Druids and the game assumes even more importance since Aberystwyth and Barry Town, who beat section leaders Cardiff Met, have now closed the gap to just two points behind The Bluebirds.
