Haverfordwest County hit for six as McManus is hat-trick hero for The New Saints

The New Saints 6 – Haverfordwest County 0

The New Saints banged in six goals to record their biggest win of the season against out of sorts Haverfordwest County at Park Hall.
A stunning hat-trick by Declan McManus led the way for the super Saints, plus one each from Louis Robles, Ryan Brobbel, and substitute Dean Ebbe.
This game was always going to be a big ask for Wayne Jones’ team, and the hosts just had too much quality for the visitors to cope with.
In this kind of form TNS are looking good to regain the title this season from the grasp of current holders Connah’s Quay Nomads.
Earlier in the season the Bluebirds narrowly lost 1-0 against The New Saints at the Bridge Meadow Stadium, but this time around they can’t have any complaints with the outcome.
Robles scores opener
Anthony Limbrick’s outfit put the visitors under pressure from the off, and the Bluebirds finally cracked in the 29
th minute as Louis Robles headed home Daniel Redmond’s pinpoint cross.
In the 32
nd minute McManus was in the right place as he neatly slotted past Gajda for his side’s second, and then in the 36
th minute keeper Gajda failed to clear his lines and following the keeper’s mistake McManus took full advantage as reacted quickest and buried his shot in the far corner, it gave the hosts a comfortable three-goal cushion at the break.
It was more of the same in the second half as the Oswestry-based team dominated and were rewarded with a fourth goal in the 61
st minute when Redmond struck a low drive from the edge of the box.
Hat-trick hero
Gajda pulled off a decent save to deny McManus, but in the 77
th minute the hosts grabbed a fifth as deadly McManus found the back of the net from close range for his hat-trick.
A slip by Redmond allowed a strike from distance by Ben Fawcett which went wide before Dean Ebbe completed the rout as the substitute volleyed past the outrushing Gadja, completing the scoring.
On Tuesday, 9
th November, Haverfordwest County entertain Barry Town United at home and manager Jones will be eager to lift his side again before that tussle.
