Cefn Druids 1 -Haverfordwest County 6

Jazz Richards claimed a superb hat-trick to help Haverfordwest County thrash relegated Cefn Druids at the Rock.

The Bluebirds had lost their last two games, so it was important the Bluebirds returned to winning ways which Nicky Hayen’s team did in emphatic fashion.

The visitors put the game to bed by half time as they convincingly led 5-1 but could only muster one more in the second period.

Alongside Richards’ first hat-trick for the club was two penalties by Jordan Davies plus Ryan George bagged the opener. The Ancients replied with a rocket of a free kick struck by Ioan Evans.

Both teams finished the match with ten men as Bluebirds’ Alaric Jones was given his marching orders for giving the referee verbal abuse, plus in injury time the Druids’ Nacho Torres was issued a second yellow.

Four changes to starting line-up

Haverfordwest County made four changes to the team that lost 1-0 at home against Aberystwyth Town also Jack Wilson was suspended. Into the starting line-up came Alaric Jones, Ryan George, Kieran Lewis, and Henry Jones.

In the 21st minute the visitors took the lead as Ryan George scored his first goal for club with a far post header, ten minutes later a penetrating run and finish by Richards who slid in at the far post put his team two-up.

Jordan is spot on

The Ancients were constantly put under extreme pressure by the on-fire Bluebirds, they cracked as Jordan Davies scored twice from the spot to put his side 4-1 ahead.

Sandwiched between the penalties was a terrific free kick scored by Evans, but Richards added a fifth right on the stroke of half time with a powerful shot from inside the box.

Red mist

The second half was a far less inspiring as the job was done, Alaric Jones saw red in the 81st minute then in injury time Nocho Torres was sent off as both teams were reduced to ten-men, but it was left to Jazz Richards to have the final say as he drilled in a late penalty to deservedly bring up his personal treble to secure Hayen’s men a six of the best result.

Haverfordwest County chairman Rob Edwards tweeted: "That's how you bounce back. Great character. Huge win as we look for a strong finish."
