Welsh Preliminary Championships held in Cardiff
Haverfordwest Gymnastics Club took a squad of 10 gymnasts to compete at the Welsh Preliminary Championships in April, which were held at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.

Each gymnast had to perform two vaults and two tumbles.In the Under 11 phase 1 girls category there were over 164 gymnasts competing. On tumble 1, Natasha Arylward picked up an 8th place, Fern Evans came 5th, Gracie Bland 4th, Poppy Grovesnor 2nd and Brooke Evans 1st. On vault 1, Brooke Evans came 6th and Poppy Grovesnor 2nd. Poppy Grovesnor finished a very respectable 12th overall and was the highest placed gymnast from Haverfordwest in the girls’ category. Branwen Vaughan, Amaya Neye, Natasha, Gracie, Fern, Brooke and Poppy finished 7th in the team standings out of 40 teams.   
 
In the Under 11 phase 1 boys category, the results were as follows: On tumble 1, Harry Watts finished 5th, Owen Canton 2nd and Rhys Corney 3rd. Rhys Corney also came 2nd on tumble 2 and 2nd on vault 1 and his combined score meant he was placed 5th overall - fantastic. In the team competition Harry, Owen and Rhys came 5th.
