Great evening of chess for local youngsters
Chess Club News:

Pembrokeshire Junior Chess Club had another fantastic evening when they traveled to Llanelli White Knights, who had paid us a visit before Christmas, thank you to Jason Garcia for organising and for the warm welcome,

I must first of all thank all the parents for driving and taking passengers, especially Fiona who had a flat tyre but arrived a little late. Understandably. Dedication. Di Iawn
We took nine players with us with White Knights rotating some of theirs with 13 present on the night.Whilst its not all about winning at this age but learning and enjoying the game is paramount, there was some amazing play by both sides, showing great technique and understanding for their age
Great play by Sebastian and Ethan
Special mention to Sebastian with a 100% record on the night and Ethan who was also unfeated. A mention also of Steff making his debut for us, the grandson of the late Bev Palmer who ran the orginal Haverfordwest Chess Club for many years back in the day.
Pembrokeshire Chess club were formerly Haverfordwest Chess Club before we relocated to Steynton and can trace our roots back to May 1966. There were good wins for Steff and Henry, alongside notable victories for most of the players.
It was also pleasing to see Ian Eustace, the Director of Junior Chess in Wales, coming to watch the games. Thank you Ian. He was impressed by the standard of play of both teams.
Well done all - keep up the great work!
