Goodwick gain sweet cup revenge in South Gower

Rhys Dalling scored second half winner for Goodwick UnitedRhys Dalling scored a crucial second half winner to ensure Goodwick United overcame Welsh League Division Two outfit South Gower to progress in the FAW Amateur Trophy.
 
South Gower joined the Welsh League this season, however last season when they were in the top flight of the Swansea League they beat Goodwick 1-0 in the West Wales Intermediate Cup. However, this time Chris O’Sullivan’s Goodwick troops deservedly defeated the South Gower outfit in a hard fought tie.
 
The visitors opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Daniel James scored with a neat low near post finish.
 
Four minutes later and the hosts equalised as the hit Goodwick with a swift counter attack which ended with Jack Jones finding the back of Kyle Marsh’s net.

It was 1-1 at half time with all to play for in the second half, the visitors gradually got on top and were rewarded in the 71st minute as counter attack led to Dalling who rounded keeper Dion Carroll and tucked the ball into the empty net for a timely winner.
