2026 Senior Cup Semi-Final

St Ishmaels 1 – Goodwick United 4

Goodwick United marched into the final after they overcame a determined St Ishmaels outfit in front of a good crowd at the Ogi Bridge Meadow Stadium.

Goodwick’s Rhys Dalling opened the scoring which gave them a slender 1-0 lead at half time. However shortly after the turn-around Adam Kingsbeer equalised for Tish. Goodwick restored the lead when Ben Adams headed home a Dalling cross then Scott Delaney added a third as the skipper lashed home from a corner. Will Haworth added a late fourth to put the result beyond doubt.

It was a cagey opening before Rhys Dalling forced a good early save from Tish keeper Owen Thomas. At the other end Aaron Hallam struck an edge of the area free kick wide.

Dalling flashed a cross from the right which Ben Adams just failed to get on the end of it, then Will Haworth blasted a long range curler way over the crossbar.

Skipper Scott Delaney headed wide from a corner, and a minute later Adams was clean through but he placed his low effort wide of the advancing Thomas.

Five minutes before the break Tish were unlucky not to break the deadlock as striker Aaron Hallam spotted Jones off his line, so the striker cleverly  lobbed the keeper but the ball struck the post.

Minutes later Goodwick worked the ball down the left and the dangerman Dalling slotted the ball past Thomas to open the scoring. Dalling went close to adding a second  but some excellent defending by Finlay Armstrong saved the day.

Shortly after half time, Dalling struck a wicked shot which Thomas parried only for Rhys Jones to place his shot wide from the rebound.

Six minutes after the break Tish equalised as Ethan Davies headed a cross across the face of goal  for midfielder Adam Kingsbeer who nodded home.

In the 56th minute Goodwick regained the lead when Ben Adams headed home a Dalling cross and  as this game flowed from end-to-end. Will Haworth flashed a low drive agonisingly wide.

Haworth whipped in a dangerous free kick as Delaney’s glancing header forced an excellent save by Thomas.

The Phoenix Lads added an important third as Haworth’s corner fell kindly for Delaney who volleyed into the back of the net.

Goodwick’s Stefan Hayes limped off as the left back picked up an injury and was replaced by Jonny Horgan.

Late in the game Haworth broke clean through before he calmy slotted past Thomas for his side’s fourth goal.
