Swifts and Neyland draw for second week in a row

 

Monkton Swifts 3 – Neyland 3

 
For the second successive week Monkton Swifts drew with Neyland.
 
Last week it finished 1-1 at the Athletic Ground, this week there were more goals but once again both teams shared the spoils come the final whistle.
 
 
This was the only game played in the top flight, as many of our teams were involved in the West Wales Intermediate Cup.
 
Corey Richards struck an early opener for the Nomads, however, ten minutes later Cameron Brunton equalised for the Swifts as it remained 1-1 at the interval.
 
Five minutes after the break the hosts were awarded a penalty which skipper Dylan Davies finished with panache into the roof of the Patrick Hannon’s net.
 
Just before the hour mark Nomads’ Corey Richards bagged his second of the game, he also scored twice last week against the Swifts, to square matters at 2-2.
 
Cameron Brunton also bagged his second of the game which gave the Swifts a slender 3-2 cushion, but back came the Nomads and they equalised with a 25 yard low drive scored by teenager Mason Morgans-Hurley.
 
In the 80th minute Neyland could have snatched a winner when Leon Barrett’s penalty was well saved by Swifts’ goalkeeper Taylor Gullam.

Rooks hit six past Robins to progress in cup

Carew hit Pennar Robins for six as they came out on top against fellow Pembrokeshire League outfit Pennar Robins to progress in the West Wales Intermediate Cup.
 
The Rooks led 2-0 at the interval as James Hinchliffe and Archie Smith bagged goals in the first and 36th minutes respectively.
 
Shortly after half time the visitors pulled one back through Ceri Griffiths, however the Rooks grabbed the tie by the scruff and scored further goals by substitute Sam Christopher, Hinchliffe again, Leon Stewart and Curtis Hurlow to lead 6-1.
 
The Robins bagged a late consolation effort through substitute Nick Willis, but it was the Rooks who had a comfortable passage into the next round.

Couzens bags stoppage time cup winner for Sports

 

Anthony Couzens bagged stoppage time cup winner for Fishguard SportsFishguard Sports 4 – AFC Glais 3

 
Anthony Couzens dramatically scored a 93rd stoppage time winner for Fishguard Sports who were delighted to dump AFC Glais out of the West Wales Intermediate Cup at the Tregroes Gound.
 
The Neath based AFC Glais outfit currently sit bottom of the West Wales Premier, in this clash they found themselves 3-0 down with just 17 minutes on the clock,
 The Sports’ goal scorers were Anthony Couzens, Luke Thomas and Adam Lawrence, but the visitors mounted a serious fight back as skipper Luc Bowles and Ross Attwell both scored as they narrowly trailed 3-2 at the interval.
 
In the 80th minute the visitors equalised when Keelan Robb-Greggory found the back of David Pepper’s net.
 
But with the last throw of the dice the Sports got a dramatic winner as skipper Patrick Hughes’ ball in the box was met by Couzens who bagged a dramatic winner.

Chirpy Robins in seventh heaven

 

Milford United 7 – Tenby 1

 
A superb second half display where Scott Reid scored a terrific hat-trick for Milford United who stunned Tenby in this all Pembrokeshire affair at Marble Hall to progress in the cup.
 
This cup tie was 1-1 at the interval, but after the break the Robins totally dominated to comfortably reach the next round of the competition.
 
Thomas Grimwood gave the hosts the lead in the tenth minute, the visitors hit back in the 38th minute through striker Scott Ferney, as the tie stood at 1-1 at the interval
 
Shortly after the break Liam Parr scored from the spot which gave the Robins a 2-1 cushion, then Reid caused havoc as the deadly striker bagged a quick-fire hat-trick, Parr got his second of the tie for the sixth goal, plus Liam Parks drilled in the seventh to complete a really good day at the office for the chirpy Robins.
