Pembrokeshire Hurricanes hosted the recent West Wales wheelchair basketball league at Fishguard Leisure Centre and there were high skill levels, allied to total commitment.

The Swansea Storm and Aberystwyth clubs joined the Hurricanes in this second development event for the area.

The aim of the day was to introduce less experienced players to the competitive game of wheelchair basketball and the event was also used to mentor coaches and table officials.

Development officer Angela is delighted

Angela Miles, disability sports development officer for Pembrokeshire, said: “The Pembrokeshire Hurricanes wheelchair basketball players and coaches have gained a wealth of experience from the development days, which is showing in the progress of the players.”

Two Hurricanes players, 11-year-old Libi Phillips from Spittal and 13-year-old Dylan Phillpot from Llangwm will be travelling to Wrexham soon to take part in the under-15 Welsh wheelchair basketball trials.

The club is open to disabled and non disabled youngsters and adults. If anyone would like further information, please contact Angela Miles on 07920 213651.
