Chandler hat-trick helps Neyland to superb West Wales Cup win
West Wales Intermediate Cup Round 1
Neyland 4 – Port Tennant Colts 1
Mike Chandler bagged a superb hat-trick to help Neyland secure a comfortable West Wales Intermediate Cup victory against Port Tennant Colts at the Athletic Ground.
The Nomads thoroughly deserved this win against the Swansea League Division One outfit who currently sit bottom of the table in search of their first win of the season.
The Nomads opened the scoring in the 17
th minute as Chandler drilled home from 12 yards.

The visitors equalised on the hour mark as Adam Hook’s free kick evaded everyone in the box as the ball found the back of the Nomads’ net.
In the 71
st minute the hosts regained the lead as a neat pass in the box by Ellis saw Chandler swivel and he struck a low left foot shot into the far corner.
It’s fair to say that Ben Fairburn was strong at back aided by Andrew Kemp also Josh Watts and Simon Ellis dominated the midfield as Max Bowman-Davies constantly caused problems for the visitors with his blistering pace.
The Nomads put the result beyond doubt when they scored two further late goals, on full time Chandler slotted home the third for his personal treble, in added time they added a fourth as Ellis’ clever ball over the top fell to Bowman-Davies who raced clear to score.
Special praise for referee Neill Crawshaw who handled the cup tie superbly.
