Chandler and James rule the roost in local cricket stats

Adam James - again top wicket taker
Adam Chandler (Cresselly) and Adam James (Haverfordwest) rule Pembrokeshire Cricket’s first division roost for the 2015 as they respectively came top in the batting and bowling averages.
As usual the figures were carefully compiled and supplied by Whitland’s cricketing anoraks Paul and Janice Webb – and as usual, interesting reading they make too!
Chandler’s the batting champ!
Chandler enjoyed a wonderful season at Cresselly and relishing his role as opening bat that he not only ended up 31 runs ahead of Simon Holliday (Haverfordwest) but ended up with an incredible average of 102.62, thanks to seven undefeated innings.
Holliday averaged an excellent average of 87.77 to beat off the challenge of Johnston run-makers Dan Sutton and Steve Mills, who had the highest individual score of 169 and was the only one to score three ‘tons’, one more than Chandler and Sutton.
Interestingly, eight batsmen reached three figures and an average of 50 was also claimed by Mills, Banner, Matthew Morgan (Cresselly), Gareth Davies (Llanrhian) and Nick Scourfield (Carew).
James does a great job for The Town
Adam James was again the top bowler as he finished ten victims ahead of his nearest rival, Ryan Lewis (Cresselly), and in doing so played a key role in his team winning the title. James also had the most miserly average (11.1) and was almost the busiest bowler, only third=placed spin bowler Andrew Pawlett (St Ishmaels) taking that stat away from him – and by only three deliveries!
Lewis and Pawlett were two of the five slow bowlers to make the top ten, with Mike ‘Flossie’ Shaw (Cresselly) having the most wickets in a day with his 7 for 42 haul.
All-rounders galore!
There were also more all-rounders than of late in the stats, with no fewer than five players featuring with bat and ball, led by Holliday, who came second in the batting and seventh in the bowling with his slow left arm trickery.
Nathan Banner ended up 5
th (batting) and sixth, whilst Steve Mills came fourth (batting) and joint 18
th, followed by Andrew Williams (Tish) who is always there or thereabouts (13
th and eighth), and Brad McDermott-Jenkins (11
th and joint 11
th).
