Haverfordwest retained their hold on the Bishop Cup as they proved too strong for Llangwm, building up a 22-3 interval lead and adding another 19 unanswered points in a traditional Boxing Day clash enjoyed by a good crowd.
There was non-stop action from Adrian Slade’s first whistle, with Matthew John, Ian Griffiths, James Lewis and Ryan John joining Henry Brant and Will Beresford in making big hits for the fired-up Wasps.

Mikey Jones missed a penalty for Haverfordwest but it was the Blues who took an early lead when Jones’ high ball caused consternation in the Llangwm defence and quickly recycled ball allowed No8 Alun Harries to brush off some weak tackles to score an unconverted try.
Llangwm responded with a penalty from Andrew Brock before Blues’ No 10 Jones slotted a three pointer from equally close range.
Haverfordwest had a long period of pressure but Alun Harries knocked on with the line at his mercy. A try seemed certain to come, however, and it was prop Ollie Evans who ploughed over for a try which winger Lawrence Hancock did well to convert.
There was still time for a third Blues’ try before the break as a clever kick into space by scrum half Matthew Morgan allowed Scott Candler the chance to pick up and stroll to the posts for Jones to add the extra points.

The Blues also opened the second half scoring with an unconverted try as Ollie Reyland showed he had recovered from a first-half knock which saw him leave the field, cutting through the middle and setting co-centre Robbie Neill in for a try.
As the almost-constant defending took its toll on the battling Wasps, Haverfordwest added further tries by Reyland and then replacement Dan John, the first converted by Jones and the second from a Richard James drop kick. Full back James looked a class act in his first game of the season and scrum half Matthew Morgan also had a good game as he linked well with Alun Harries.
But the man of the match award for the Roy James Trophy, awarded for the 27
th time by his family, went to young Llangwm No 8 Matthew John for his non-stop tackling and running on behalf of the losing team.
