Bluebirds are hit for six at Cardiff Met
JD Cymru Premier – Conference Play-off:
Cardiff Met 6 - Haverfordwest County 1
Cardiff Met bagged six goals in a scintillating first half performance to blow Haverfordwest County away at the Cyncoed Campus.
Earlier in the season the Bluebirds had taken four points against the Archers, they drew 0-0 in first game of the season at Cyncoed, in the return match Wayne Jones’ men won 1-0 at the Bridge Meadow.
For the second game in a row the Bluebirds suffered a disappointing heavy defeat. The Archers led 6-0 at the break, the visitors played better in the second half, they took scant consolation that Kieran Lewis bagged the only goal in the second half.
The Arches opened the scoring in the second minute through Elliot Evans with a smart far post finish. Ollie Hulbert drilled in the second, skipper Woolridge was on target with the third, lively Hulbert struck home the fourth, Evans made no mistake from the spot for the fifth, Hulbert added the sixth to complete his hat-trick for the sixth.
Bluebirds boss Wayne Jones made three changes at the break, Marcus Griffiths, Trystan Jones, and Sean Pemberton replaced Scott Tancock, Alaric Jones, and Ben Fawcett, respectively. Also midway through the second period there was a welcome return off the bench for Jack Wilson from injury.
The Bluebirds contested better in the second period and were rewarded when Lewis pulled one back, but it was a classic case of to little too late.
