Alaric scores on Welsh debut and Jack and Ben are both involved

Well earlier this week, Alaric Jones played for the Welsh Schools U18s when his dream was finally realised.

The left back who is a pupil at Tasker Milward, and has regularly played for Haverfordwest County’s Welsh League outfit this season featured in a Centenary Shield international for the Welsh Schools U18s who narrowly lost 1-2 against the Republic of Ireland, played at Cefn Druids’ ground, Rock Stadium.

The visitors took the lead before Alaric equalised with a far post header from a corner.

In the second half Jack Wilson who attends Pembrokeshire College and has regularly turned out for Hakin United in the Pembrokeshire League First Division - featured on the right hand side of midfield.

The Welsh Schools U18s next game is against Northern Ireland, in Belfast, on March 15th.

Jack’s Vikings’ teammate Ben Fawcett, who is also a student at Pembrokeshire College was included in the match day squad but could not play due to an ankle injury.

Alaric tweeted, “Gutted about the result should’ve got more from the game. Buzzing with a goal though.”

Alaric has also been selected for the Welsh Academy U18 squad and his Haverfordwest County teammate Charlie Davies is on standby.

Jack and Ben have also gained selection for the Welsh Colleges U18 squad and they will play in a tournament in Rome, Italy, next week.
