Football managers have their say on who will win the cup

Pembrokeshiresport.co.uk has spoken to Pembrokeshire Football League Division One managers to get their opinions and predictions who they think will lift the Senior Cup at the Conygar Bridge on 21st April, 2018. Judging by the forecasts it shows Hakin United are overwhelming red hot favourites against underdogs Clarbeston Road. Will the cup final go the way of The Vikings or will Clarbeston Road cause an upset? Only time will tell – let the battle commence!

Narberth manager

Clarbeston Road have done well to get to the final for the second year running. However I can’t see past a Hakin United victory with the quality attacking options they have.

Prediction: Clarbeston Road 0 Hakin United 4

Andrew Kemp

Andrew Kemp

Neyland press secretary

Brilliant to see Clarbeston Road reach second final in a row. Jason Griffiths is a goal threat for The Road, but I think The Vikings’ firepower of Nicky Woodrow, Ben Fawcett and Justin Harding will see them lift the trophy.

Prediction: Clarbeston Road 2 Hakin United 4

Ollie West

Ollie West

Herbrandston manager

Clarby have had acouple of brilliant seasons and will be so much better for last years’ experience. Hakin have lots of catch up in the league that may have a bearing. I believe The Vikings will be too strong going forward in a high scoring affair.

Prediction: Clarbeston Road 2 Hakin United 3

Wayne O Sullivan

Wayne O’Sullivan

Goodwick United – player manager

Congratulations to Clarbeston Road on achieving back to back Senior Cup Finals. Hakin will be favourites, but I fancy Clarby to go one better this year. If Tom Glover and Dan Rees can keep Hakin’s lively front two quiet then they have a great chance.

Prediction: Clarbeston Road 2 Hakin United 1

Joe Lewis

Monkton Swifts manager

Both teams are dangerous on the break and it should be a cracking final. I feel that Hakin United will be just too strong for Clarbeston Road on the day.

Prediction: Clarbeston Road 1 Hakin United 3

Adrian Hutchings

Adrian Hutchings

Milford United manager

I think Hakin will have too much fire power with Justin Harding and Nicky Woodrow up front. I don’t think Clarby will be as cautious as last year as they now have the experience of the big day, and Jason Griffiths will always pose a goal threat.

Prediction: Clarbeston Road 1 Hakin United 3

Nathan Thomas

Nathan Thomas

Merlins Bridge manager

I’ve been very impressed with Clarby Road this season and their ability to pull off results when needed. My cousin Matthew Ellis will have his team well organised on the day just as he did against us in the semi-final. I can’t see Hakin going 90 minutes without scoring, so I’ll go 1-1 at full time with Mike Turpin scoring the winner with free kick in extra time to bring the trophy back to Clarby.

Prediction: Clarbeston Road 2 Hakin United 1 (after extra time)

Chrissie Lloyd

Chris Lloyd

Pennar Robins manager

I’d love to back the underdog. Clarby again, but I don’t think they’d want me to after last year. Provided Hakin’s key players remain injury free in their bush schedule to catch up on league games, they’ll be too strong for the effervescent young Clarby team. Young Ben Fawcett and Jack Wilson balance the youth scale, but Hakin’s experience will show through

Prediction: Clarbeston Road 0 Hakin United 3

Jeremy Griffiths

Jeremy Griffiths

Carew assistant manager

Hakin United are solid defensively, with quality strikers in the form of Nicky Woodrow, Justin Harding and Ben Fawcett. Matthew Ellis’ Clarbeston Road outfit will give it their best, but it’s Hakin for me.

Prediction: Clarbeston Road 0 Hakin United 2

Lee Palmer

Lee Palmer

West Dragons manager

I really believe Hakin United will have too much quality all over the pitch, Clarbeston Road are battlers, but The Vikings’ experience having played in so many big games over the years will see them lift the trophy.

Prediction: Clarbeston Road 1 Hakin United 4

Karen Kitts

Lamphey press secretary

Having watched both teams play Lamphey, and on the form I witnessed I would say Hakin United will have too much firepower for Clarbeston Road to cope with. So I’d say Hakin United will win the Senior Cup.

Prediction: Clarbeston Road 1 Hakin United 4

Andrew Thomas

Andrew Thomas

Angle team manager

I think Clarbie have really grown in experience this season and could cause an upset if the Hakin front runners don’t come up with the goods. But in Nicky Woodrow they have an outstanding goal scorer and I think he will be the major difference between the sides.

Prediction: Clarbeston Road 0 Hakin United 3

Micky Phillips

Micky Phillips

Manderwood Pembrokeshire League Assistant Secretary

If Clarbeston Road were to win it would be just reward for the club who have put so much into the local community over the past 10+ years. However my head tells me it will be the Vikings who will gain their first Senior Cup success since their 5-0 win over Monkton Swifts in 2011-12.

Prediction: Clarbeston Road 1 Hakin United 2
