Daisy Picton & Bill CarneDaisy comes out on top again!

Congratulations to David Albert Isaac Samuel Yosser Picton on beating The Expert in our fun competition which revolves forecasting not only the results of Pembrokeshire League division One football but picking up vital bonus points for getting the scorelines correct as well!

Better known as Daisy to all at Hakin United in particular, and Pembrokeshire Football in general, he had previously beaten the expert once and lost the other time, making cruel allegations about corruption regarding our resident  ‘Mr Grumpy’. On this occasion he trailed by a single point, recovered to lead by a point, added another point to his advantage in week three and then held off a determined come-back bid by The Expert as a couple of late scores edged results in Daisy’s favour.

“I knew that I would win,” said Daisy, with no trace of false modesty, “because I watch games every weekend and with my general footballing brain it was only a matter of time before I claimed that tee-shirt!”

Earplugs needed at The Obs and on the plane to Ireland

Already sticking their fingers in their ears are his mates at The Obs, where Gary Dawes and the players will be sure to hear just a few words about his tipping exploits, and at Manderwoods in Neyland, where Chris Tansey and the boys groaned when they heard the final result because Daisy was on the phone to boss Chris Tansey to ask Chris how he managed to lose and Daisy had won.

Perhaps even worse for Chris Tansey, Jimmy Yeomans and co was the fact that they were flying to Ireland with Daisy for the Wales versus Ireland rugby match and it is rumoured that special ear plugs had been bought for all eight travellers! Be that as it may, we have to say well done to our little flower of a friend, although The Expert was only begrudgingly complimentary.

“I still can’t believe I lost to that little petal – he ought to doing The Lottery with his luck. But I’ll take him on again next year and I am not going to underestimate him then. I’ll cut him off at his roots – just mark my words!”

Daisy received his tee shirt with the legend ‘I Beat The Expert on www.PembrokeshireSport.co.uk’; from Bill Carne and even had the cheek to invite The Expert to the presentation. We daren’t tell you what the answer was on a family website like ours but suffice to say that our Mr Grumpy wasn’t there!

ANYWAY, WELL DONE DAISY PICTON – WEAR THE TEE SHIRT WITH PRIDE IN IRELAND  – BECAUSE YOU BEAT THE EXPERT!
