Haverfordwest gymnasts

tumble to success

On the 14th May, Haverfordwest Gymnastics Club took four acrobatic and 22 tumbling gymnasts to compete in the ‘West Street’ Welsh Open Championships.
This competition showcased the talents of gymnasts from all across Wales and the top three individual gymnasts were announced along with the top three clubs.
In the acrobatic section Jenna Walters and Jordan Spencer came 5th in the Prep A category and Sophie and Sara Storrow also came 5th in the Prep B category. This was an excellent result for the girls as none of these gymnasts had ever competed in the acrobatic discipline before.

Superb results

There were also some brilliant performances from the tumbling gymnasts and the results were as follows: Scarlett Morris 4th, Seren Rowland-Higgins 3rd, Ffion Roberts 2nd, Lucy Jenkins 1st in the under 8 A category and Rhiannon Mansfield 2nd in the under 8 B category.
Ellen Dalling was 1st in the under 8 C category, Shanita Davis 8th in the 8 year old A category, Katie Richards 4th and Ellie-Mai James in the 8 year old B category whilst Isla Davies came 1st in the 8 year old C category, Alice Evans was 4th and Megan Le Petit 2nd in the 9-10 yrs A category.
Louise Mear 8th, Emma Cox 6th, Lowri Boorman 5th,  all did well in the 9-10 yrs B category, Amy McDonald 5th, Elinor Beazley 4th, Zoe Phillips 2nd in the 11-12 yrs C category, Lauren Smith 7th, Ella Phillips 6th, Sara Cox 2nd in the 11-12 yrs D category and Jadie Davis 1st in the 13+ D category.

Splendid second place

At the end of the day all the scores were added up and the top three clubs of the day were announced. Haverfordwest finished in 2nd place, narrowly  missing out on the title by less than 1.0 mark to the hosts of the competition, West Street.
