Duggie Morris CupOrange cricket balls to be used for Duggie Morris Cup matches

After seeking the co-operation of the clubs involved in the competition, the Pembroke County Cricket Club wish to announce that an orange-coloured cricket ball will be used in all rounds of the Duggie Morris Cup, including the final, this coming season.

When asked for their opinion on the introduction of an orange-coloured cricket ball, all twelve of the clubs involved in this competition agreed to give it a try. If this proves successful it is then the intention of the County Club to introduce this ball to all its cup competitions in 2012.

The Duggie Morris Cup starts on Tuesday, 24th May, with two fixtures where Lamphey will play St. Ishmaels and Pembroke Dock entertain Hook in games that are scheduled to start at 6.00pm. The following evening, 25th May, Narberth will play Lawrenny and Haverfordwest will play Carew. At the end of each match, both club captains and umpires will be asked for their views on the ball

This is a first for Pembrokeshire Cricket and all cricket followers in the county will be more than interested in how this orange-coloured ball fares during the evening fixtures.
