Fixtures for 23rd April 2011
Division One (West):
Narberth v Llangennech
Narberth entertain Llangennech in search of the double, having already won 40-22 in Llangennech. Verdict: Llangennech have strengthened their squad since then but I fully expect the Otters to complete the double.Bridgend Athletic v Whitland
Whitland and Bridgend Athletic drew 8-all at Parc Llwyn Ty Gwyn and the Borderers are currently 7th, a place below the opposition. Verdict: The Borderers are in good nick at the moment and I think they will grab the verdict and leap-frog over the opposition in the table!Division Three (West):
Crymych v Penclawdd
Crymych entertain Penclawdd and are just four matches away from a 100% record for an amazing season – and they also have to play the Cocklemen away on a tough run-in that includes second placed Mumbles (away) and Gorseinon (home). Verdict: The Preseli Men to make it P19 W19, without any doubt!Mumbles v Haverfordwest
Haverfordwest travel to play Mumbles, currently in second place and playing well, but will know they have been in a match against the Blues. Verdict: I think Mumbles might just do it – but I would love the Blues top prove me wrong!Division Four (West):
Aberaeron v Neyland
Neyland travel up the coast to Aberaeron and it will be a tough tussle as the All Blacks take on a side just one place above them in the table. Verdict: It depends on what sort of side Neyland take but on recent form I have to go for Aberaeron!Cardigan v Amman United
This could be the match of the day on paper as third-placed Cardigan entertain Amman United, just above them in the table, at the King George Vth Ground. Verdict: The Teifisiders played superbly to win 22-19 when the teams last met – and I really hope they can complete the double here!Hendy v Milford Haven
Hendy are a difficult side to beat at their home ground, despite their eighth place in the table, but Milford are currently in good form and eager to improve on their fifth spot. Verdict: If Mackie’s Boys are at anywhere near full strength I expect them to win but if not then Hendy will edge it!Pembroke Dock Quins v Tenby United
The Quins are now hot favourites for relegation whilst Tenby United are eager for promotion as they sit proudly in top spot. Verdict: The Seasiders have lost several key players to injury and have not been so fluid of late – but I still expect them to be too experienced for a young Quins side.Division Five (West):
Bynea v Fishguard
Fishguard will travel to Bynea knowing that they must win to keep alive their hopes of a play-off place, whilst Bynea are currently in tenth spot in the section. Verdict: This has to be a Seagulls’ success!Furnace v Llangwm
Following their shock defeat against bottom club Pontyates, Llangwm now travel to play at Furnace, currently top and firing on all cylinders. Verdict: I have got the last two Wasps’ forecasts wrong and in tipping a Furnace victory I hope to make it a hat-trick – but I doubt even I could get this one wrong!Pembroke v St Clears
Pembroke’s hopes of a play-off place were seriously damaged a week ago with a 6-5 defeat at St Clears so the Scarlets will be eager for revenge at Crickmarren. Verdict: I think Ossie Boswell’s team will atone for that single-point defeat here!St Davids v Llandybie
The Saints were slammed at Fishguard last weekend but they are a proud bunch and will look to bounce back at home to Llandybie. Verdict: The visitors sit in fifth place and, sadly, I have to tip them to beat the Saints!
