Fixtures for 16th April 2011

Division One (West):

Whitland v Carmarthen Athletic
Whitland lost by 32-10 when they made the short journey up the road to play Carmarthen Athletic earlier in the se4ason and so will be eager for revenge at Parc Llwyn Ty Gwyn on Saturday. Verdict: The Borderers have certainly improved since then and I expect them to gain a narrow victory.

Division Three (West):

Haverfordwest v Crymych
Haverfordwest have been playing well but this is a really tough tussle for them as they try to take away Crymych’s 100% record. The Preseli Men won 24-14 at Parc Lloyd Thomas earlier in the season but the Blues have really perked up since then. Verdict: I think Crymych will win but they will certainly know they have been in a match!

Division Four (West):

Amman United v Pembroke Dock Quins
Amman United are desperate for points as they pursue Tenby at the top of the table – and they scored 85 points last Saturday whilst the Quins conceded 62. Verdict: Sadly, I have to go for an Amman win but I would love to be proved wrong!

Milford Haven v Llanybydder
Milford United have moved into a respectable fifth place in the table, one ahead of Llanybydder, who have a big pack and like to use them. Verdict: I think Milford will be too quick behind the scrum for Llanybydder and will win with a little in hand.

Neyland v Cardigan
Neyland entertain cardigan with both sides having won last Saturday, but with the Teifisiders third and the All Blacks three from the bottom. Verdict: Again, I would like to see a win for Neyland but I think Cardigan will win this one!

Tenby United v Hendy
Tenby United are still top and will be eager to pick up another win on the path to promotion against seventh-placed Hendy, who traditionally have a big pack. Verdict: The Seasiders are strong up front and very quick behind the scrum – and I can only see a bonus-point victory here for Emori Katalau’s men!

Division Five (West):

Fishguard v St Davids
This should be an entertaining local derby for the Seagulls’ Cup, with St Davids having won last week and Fishguard losing their second match on the trot. Verdict: St Davids will battle all the way but Fishguard should bounce back here.

Llandybie v Pembroke
Pembroke know that only a win at Llandybie will do them as they again have a sniff of promotion in their nostrils. Verdict: Llandybie are fifth and no pushovers but I think Ossie Boswell’s boys will win this one!

Llangwm v Pontyates
Llangwm played well last week to win at Swansea Uplands and will be looking forward to playing against a Pontyates’ side which has lost all its 18 games. Verdict: A win for the Wasps – I daren’t predict anything else after last Saturday!
