fixtures for 19th March 2011
Division One (West):
Bridgend v Narberth
Narberth are the only team not to lose so far to table-topping Bridgend since the teams drew 13-all at the Lewis Lloyd Ground but the Otters know that they will need to be on tip-top form for this one. Verdict: If Narberth can stop Bridgend fly half Dan Griffiths controlling play then they have the fire-power to win – but on form I have to go for the home side!Whitland v Bonymaen
Whitland are a team who can take on anyone in the section, as they proved in the first half against Bridgend last week so they will be looking to beat Bonymaen at Parc Llwyn Ty Gwyn, despite the fact that Bonymaen are third in the table. Verdict: Bonymaen won narrowly by 24-21 earlier in the season and I expect the Borderers to gain revenge here.Division Three (West):
Crymych v Llandeilo
Crymych have enjoyed a remarkable run of 14 league matches with 100% success and will be seeking the double here since they edged home 13-12 in Llandeilo. Verdict: The Preseli Men to win – by a far bigger margin than one point!Haverfordwest v Gorseinon
These two teams are very evenly matched in terms of form since Haverfordwest are fifth and Gorseinon sit just below them. Gorseinon won by 29-16 at home so will be looking for the double over the Blues at Merlins Bridge. Verdict: Home advantage should play a significant part here and I think the Blues will come away with a seventh win from 15 starts!Division Four (West)
Cardigan v Cefneithin
Cardigan won by just 14-13 at Cefneithin so will be hot favourites to beat a team which is in the relegation zone. Verdict: The Teifisiders have played really well recently and they could even win here with a bonus point.Llanybydder v Milford Haven
Llanybydder are no mugs since they sit fifth in the table with seven wins from 14 starts whilst Milford Haven are seventh, also having won half of their 12 matches so far. Verdict: I hope the Mariners win but it all depends on what side they take – and I have a feeling that Llanybydder might just shade things.Pembroke Dock Quins v Amman United
Pembroke Dock Quins know that this is a tough fixture but Amman United have lost twice in their last three games after being unbeaten before that, so they might be on the crest of a slump, as it were! Verdict: I would love to see the Quins win but my head tells me I have to go for the visitors!Division Five (West):
Llangwm v Furnace
Llangwm entertain current leaders Furnace, who have won 11 and lost only two games to sit just ahead of Pembroke and Fishguard in the promotion race, whilst the Wasps are seventh, with six wins and nine losses. Verdict: The Wasps are often stronger at home so it might be closer than some people think – but I still have to pick Furnace.Fishguard v Bynea
Fishguard are playing really well and have a strong squad, which is always good with so many rearranged matches to play. Bynea are a useful side but they will find it hard going at The Moors. Verdict: The Seagulls to fly high here!
